More contest ramblings...

Wow. I'm getting really excited because

a. I love the title and I can't wait for the world to hear it!

and

b. I think the code is pretty cool and (in Ally fantasy world) girls everywhere will soon be using it for all their covert communications.

Which brings me to some things I want to say about the code itself.

--It will go out via newsletter on Monday, November 6th.

--If you don't subscribe to the newsletter, don't worry, it will be posted here--on the blog--on Tuesday, November 7 (in honor of the publication of LEARNING TO PLAY GIN).

--I'm starting to freak out that it's way too hard.

--Then I immediately freak out that it's way too easy.

--Basically, once you figure out how it works it's tremendously easy, but figuring it out might be kinda hard.

--Actually, one of the tests of a code is just that--it should be easy to read if you know how but figuring out how should be very difficult, so in that respect it's a pretty good code.

--I'm not really a number person, so you totally don't have to be a number person to get it. At all.

--If, after a few days, I don't have any correct answers I'll start posting hints.

--I'm totally scared that no one is going to enter.

--I don't have an "ending date" exactly because I think I'll just wait until we have winners in all the categories. But maybe I do need a date...

--Okay, I've decided the ENDING DATE will be WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 22! So I will officially post the answers and the winners then!

There. I'm glad that's taken care of. Now I need to get to work--seriously to work!

ps...let me just say thanks again to all of you who have read the book and told your friends about it because I just heard about some new sales figures and I know there must be some serious word-of-mouth advertising going on out there, and I can't thank you guys enough for loving these characters as much as I do!

Ally - I wanted to let you know that when I was in my library recently, I looked for your book to see if they had it. They didn't, so I thought I'd look it up on the computer, and if they didn't have it I'd request it. Clever me! Well, they did have it - many, many copies of it (I'd Tell You I Love You...) but there were 52 holds on it. GOOD NIGHT! That's as many as Janet had for 12 Sharp! Just thought I'd pass that on. ;)

I have a similar story-- I've been reading I'D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU BUT THEN I'D HAVE TO KILL YOU slowly at B&N (reading a chapter each time I go there, because, yanno, I have to still like the book by chapter 10 or so to buy it) and at first there were 6 copies-- yay! I can always find one to read. Now it's like, where is that darn book? Oh, it's ALL SOLD OUT! But luckily I managed to snag a copy before they were all gone (don't worry, snag as in pay for it.)

Also I'm totally psyched (sp?) about the code-cracking thingy! Having an ARC of GG2 would be so UNBELIEVABLY COOL.

Ally, I want you to know that I'm rereading your book for like the third time. I love it so much. I even had a dream about it last night. I had a dream that I went to school with Cammie. But I must admit the reason why I bought it in the first place was that it had plaid on it. And I happen to be obbsessed with plaid.

I'm super excited for this code thing. I love doing cyrptology (sp?). I'm just not sure if I should get a group together at school or I should do it by myself. It's crazy. I just hope that not to may people enter and get it right before me. Cause the email will probably get sent out while I'm at school...
