Today's topic: Why we love Logan Echols.

Due to deadline constraints, I won't be doing big blogs for a while--relying upon you, the blog-reading public, to keep this site visit-worthy by having a series of lively discussions in the comments section.

Today's topic: why we love Logan Echols.

He's cocky. He's jerk-like. He's prone to violence.

So why do we love him? (And if you don't, feel free to state that too.)

I'm serious, guys. I REALLY want to know!

Ok, I do love Logan LoVe hjowever is a very different story. I love him because he is funny witty and he knows he's a spoiled jack ass and proud of it! He and Veronica are great as witty slap stick friends btu I just don't think they work as a couple...never have. And yes, I know they are so in love and have their moments but not nearly as much as Duncan and Veronica had!
Ok there's my rant...

Ally, I just went to go buy GIN, but the bookstore was completely sold out! Looks like your books are pretty popular. =0)

Aw, I love LoVe. I think Veronica and Logan are definitely destined for each other, in the epic way that Logan described it at the end of season two. Unfortunately, that comes with some baggage and issues, and Veronica doesn't seem as eager to work that stuff out as Logan does. I'm proud of him for doing the breaking up this time around; he could feel that she wasn't in it to win it, and he didn't want to get his heart shattered yet again. Of course, his heart is shattered anyway, which is the way it's always going to be with them.

But Logan . . . why do I love him? Well, I think it's because he's so complicated. He doesn't always do the right thing, but that doesn't matter because his heart is almost always in the right place. Case in point: this week's episode, when he smashed the car window just so he could go to jail and wail on Mercer and Moe, who totally deserve it. He's messy and complex and while not completely amoral, he does have a sometimes doubtful ethical code. But, he's very hot, so that can be overlooked. Jason Dohring is such a fantastic actor, and he and Kristen Bell have some amazing chemistry. I hope that if the show doesn't get picked up for a fourth season (of course, that would be crazy, but it could happen and it seems like Rob Thomas is actually worried about it) they still end up together.

Oh...why do we love Logan? (which we all do...no worries Ally)!

1.) Because he's hot
2.) Because as Crazy Chick points out he's not afraid to take a baseball bat to a cop's car just to go to jail to be near the jerk who messed with the love of his life. Classic Logan! LOVE IT.
3.) He's one messed up kid. Crazy, killer dad. Crazy, possible mom that committee suicide, but the body never shows up and we never talk about it again. We always relate to the messed up ones.
4.) He's perfect for Veronica...
5.) I think it works better when there is tension with Logan and Veronica. I'm actually happy they broke up. Now we can get back to the good tension. We know they HAVE TO END UP TOGETHER IN THE END, so we need to have more tension to make us wonder. Throw some more guys in there. Logan and Veronica are more fun to watch fighting. Their snappy dialogue. Logan's eyes when he wants Veronica, but she just can't give in to him yet.
6.) It's just LoVe

Okay...WHY DO WE NOT LOVE LOGAN?

I have loved Logan since my first VM ep., when he said, "Annoy tiny blonde one, annoy like the wind." He makes me laugh with his witty barbs.

I think it's a combo of hotness and charisma. And the fact that he is one of the most complex and layered characters to come across the screen since... well... since there was a Joss show on the air!

I completely agree with anony #2

Logan is complex and layered, which makes him really interesting.

I've loved him from the beginning too. He and Veronica have always had great chemistry...they were a ton more fun to watch then her and Duncan.

This is begging for a favorite VM quote reel! Anyone care to begin?
I'd use the annoy tiny blonde one but thats been taken.
So I'll say..
Be cool soda pop
Or the entire scene between keith and veronica where she says she wont tail aaron and then keith tells her that when she does she should bring back up LOL hillarious!

Well, I can't say why everyone else loves him... but as for me... I always like the "tortured" ones. Those who aren't all that polished and gentlemanly at first glance, but who love so passionately and have such a golden heart. He kind of reminds me of Mr Rochester in that respect (and I'm sure Charlotte Bronte's rolling in her grave right now), though hopefully he doesn't have some crazy wife that he's hiding from the world. So that's the main reason why I love Logan.

Of course, the way he looks at Veronica when he sees that she's not answering his phone calls doesn't hurt at all either. It sort of makes you want to take him and shelter him from ever being hurt again. Ah. Love.

I love Logan for all the reasons I mentioned on my blog, adn also for Emily's number 5, and most of all, because he's not JUST an unfeeling jackass, but I think he feels MORE deeply, and more purely than almost anyone else ont eh show. You can even see it in the pilot where he asks Veronica isn't it enought hat Lilly's dead, why do you have to go after everyone else he loves?

I loved Logan ever since that look he gives Veronica after he plays the recut Lilly memorial tape from last year's homecoming -- you just know he really cared about LIlly, really GOT her the same way veronica did. And then there's "Annoy like the wind" which cemented it for me, the collapse after running into his sister at the hotel, and the punch.

Sigh. Logan. Love you, always. And yeah, I'm glad they broke up, because them in romantic torment makes the coming back together so deliciously, deliciously sweet. I swear, I watched the final scene of season two, where he kind of, um, rubs up against her in the hall -- I watched that a lot.

And the weird thing is, I was NEVER into the tortured bad boy type until Logan. EVER. Ask anyone.

I've never loved tortured bad boys until i watched veronica mars and fell in love with Logan.

I think it's the way he's so screwed up but yet he tries is what draws you in. And how veronica is good for him and no matter if they're together or not when he looks at her and delivers his snarky comment there is still love in his eyes. I think veronica is scared of how much she loves him, and scared of how much he'll hurt her when it ends. They're always there for each other which i think is cute. And they are epic. Veronica gets him.

But back to logan, he is just fun to watch and what he goes through just makes you want to hold him. He is a jackass but can you blame him

I love logan because he is the most awesome guy in Veronica Mars. I think that he and veronica have great chemistry and that they absolutely belong together. It broke my heart in the third season when they kept breaking up and getting nack together.

Anyway I love logan because he ia amazing, hot, sweet, sensitive, caring, protective, and also a little messed up. But I loved him from the very first episode and i kept on loving him to the series finale!
