Today's question: Favorite line/scene
I'm constantly amazed by what lines/scenes become a person's favorite. More than once, I've cut a line from a draft of a book only to have my editor or agent write and say "where did the XYZ line go? That was my favorite!"
Really? THAT was your favorite line?
So today's question is a rather self-serving one.
Which lines and/or scenes from I'D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU BUT THEN I'D HAVE TO KILL YOU, LEARNING TO PLAY GIN, or CHEATING AT SOLITAIRE are your favorites?
I'll start.
LYKY: my favorite scene is the one between Macey and Cammie when Cammie talks about going to the circus with her dad.
My favorite LYKY line is when they're in the drivers' ed car and Liz says, "It'll only be a little explosion!"
GIN: this one's easy. I love the scene when Nina is talking about how the second time she married Jason they were in Las Vegas and he said, "You want to get married or something" and she says, "That's a proposal I said yes to. Here's a hint: if the proposal includes the phrase 'or something'--take the something."
SOLITAIRE: Favorite scene--Breaking into Myrtle's. Favorite line: Julia (while wearing mittens) holding her hand in the air angrily and yelling "I'm flipping you off!"
So those are my favorites. What about you guys? Any lines that have stuck with you?

My fav line from LYKY is "Get good or get Dead" or somethind like that or I like "It'll only bee a little explision" too
Okay...there are a ton formn LYKY tha tI like... but my favorite scene is at the fair, when they're trying to be all stealthy and hide form a teacher...and Cammie gets splooshed on by the dunk tank water...
I'd have to say that one of my top favorite scenes in LYKY is the one at the fair when Cammie reaches into the trash and pulls out the can, only to find that a boy is standing right behind her and the first thing she can think of to say is "I have a cat!" LOL... that was great :-)!!
srry, i meant bottle* (pulls out the bottle)
Definite favorite line in LYKY is "What color shorts am I wearing?" (or something along those lines)
LMAO! I was reading it in Barnes & Noble and I started snickering so hard that my dad was like, "What? What? Let me read that!"
Omg, i cant deside on wich one i like best but from LYKY, i love the scene when Cammie is kidnapped and Josh shows up, and said he called the cops and all. I really liked that one. Although, i like all the scenes!
Favorite scene end of learning to play gin with the deck of cards and the line he says then....so sweet!
My favorite scene from LYKY is when Cammie talks about her dad at taking her to the circus.
My favorite line from LYKY is a tie between "I have a cat" when Cammie first meets Josh and "We owe it to your country" when Bex and Liz conspire to steal Josh's trash.
My favorite scene and line from Solitaire is the same as you, Ally! Breaking into Myrtles and "I'm flipping you off!"
I don't have any from Gin because I haven't read it yet. *hangs head shamefully* I am hoping to get it for Christmas, since I am broke. I spent all my money at a concert. I blame the t-shirt designer for making a t-shirt I like, but I digress. I'm off to drop more giant hints about wanting Gin for Christmas. I'll just walk through the living room and casually say "It would be great to get Ally Carter's book, Learning to Play Gin, for Christmas." Yes, that should work.
Tootles!

I'm horrible at remembering lines...
But I do love the Breaking into Myrtle's scene in Solitaire.
I like all the one's people have mentioned about about LYKY.
From SOLITAIRE:
My favorite scene takes place in Oklahoma when Nina is driving Julia and Lance home from the airport. They stop and get gas and Lance gets out pump it and clean the front windshield.
And here's the scene and the line:
"Both women stared at him out the window. When Lance took the squeegee and began to clean the windshield, Nina gripped the steering wheel and moaned, "Oh, have mercy."
That's when I knew I would love anything Ally would write.
i do not know my fav line from LYKY, but i know i loved it when Cammie is kidnapped how all the girls devise a plan, along with Josh helping with the fork lift!
However i did really like all the scenes with John Solomon. Overall the whole book was great!!!!!!!!!
. . . probably because, in a place where everyone knew my story, it was nice to know there was a chapter that only I had read. - Page 91
All these years I'd thought being a spy was challenging. Turns out, being a girl is the tricky part. - Page 144
Then the strangest thing happened -- we both stopped talking. It was like that episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer where everyone in town got their voices stolen. - Page 178
I ran. I jumped. I stretched out my arms, and for ten blissful seconds, I could fly. - Page 265
ONE of my favorites...
"I could have said hi back in fourteen different languages (and that's not including pig Latin).
---
hm. why is pig latin called, well, pig latin? I mean, seriously...
Sorry. got off track.
but I do love the whole book.
i loved it when josh was all like 'the cops are on their way' and then almost all of the gallagher girls jump on him. my friends looked at me like i was crazy i was luaghing so hard!!!
