Cross My Heart--the cover!

Thanks, guys! I'm so glad so many of you liked the cover and seem to think that it will remind people enough of Love You Kill You that they might pick it up.
I was also interested to see your response to the green. In fact, I was expecting it.
Last weekend I emailed the cover to my sister and we had the following coversation:
Me: Hey, it's your sister.
Her: Hey, sister.
Me: How are the girls?
Her: Freakishly smart and spoiled beyond all hope of redemption (she might not have actually said that part. That part might have been implied.)
Me: So did you see the cover?
Her: I did! It's great!
Me: You really think so?
Her: Yeah. I really like the green.
Me: I like it, too, but...
Her: What?
Me: There will be emails.
Her: What do you mean?
Me: Emails--from readers. About the color of the uniform
Her: Really? Will they even notice?
Me: They're future Gallagher Girls! Of course they'll notice! And there will probably be theories about how, in this book, Cammie has to go undercover at a school with green uniforms or that the school has been bought by a multi-national organization that has given the place an overhaul, or that Dr. Fibs has created chameleon fabric that changes colors (which actually isn't a bad idea.) Trust me. They'll notice. And inquiring minds will want to know.
Her: Really?
Me: Really.
And then I had to get off because Wentworth Miller was calling on the other line to ask me to be his date for the SAG awards but since I have a deadline and he'd waited until the last minute to ask me I had to say no.
So there. I predicted you'd notice and inquire about the uniforms.
And I'm afraid the answer is just that they wanted this book to look a little different. But I guess it still looked too similar to LYKY so they added the black background and...presto.
(Note to self: make more of an effort to incorporate "presto" into your daily conversations.)
And that's the story of the uniforms.
I know I'm biased but I think Hyperion has THE BEST covers out there! And I'm soooo grateful that they're on my team. Hope you guys agree.

Oh my gosh, the cover's AWESOME! Ugggggg, now I REALLY can't wait for Cross My Heart to come out! lol. I can kinda tell that it's a different model, but I don't care :) Thanks for showing us fans the totally cool cover!

Any reason for the change in uniform color? I like it, but you should totally write it into the plot that each grade wears a different color lol.

I love it. Its soo much like the first one (which i love), but it different too.
I'm LOL at the idea that the readers are going to have a problem with the outfits. That's so true.
My new covers, the heroine wouldn't be caught dead in the outfit they have her dressed in, but I bet a lot of readers are going to assume she's got the preppy style featured on the cover.

Oh, I love it!! Green is my favorite color! This book looks a little darker than LYKY. The first one was great, but a little cutesy, you know? All those ideas you had would be great for a THIRD book! I would totally read it, in fact I want to read it! C'mon, Ally, PLEEEEEEEEEEASE?!??!?!?!!?

OMG! the cover is great! although i dont love the green- you def. cant tell at all that the models are different- besides the cover is not nearly as important as the words inside! i cant wait for the book to come out so write fast!

I thought perhaps the GG's graduated to green, as though they'd reached a new level at school or successfully passed their spy 1 class. Or maybe they just have different color uniforms from which to choose? Regardless I LOVE THE NEW COVER!

No matter what they say, the cover is fantastic. The green is superb, and I'm surprised you could make the cover so similar to the other one at all! I'm looking forward to the red uniforms on book three . . . Haha. I love it.
it is so cute! i got so excited when i saw it, and i think i like it better then the blue; green seems more spy-ish. i cannot wait for this book, and i really hope there will be more then two!! even if its different colors, it totally works and is definitely perfect. thanks for the cover =)
It is SO awesome! I read the first one in two days and my friend read it all last night! Now we call each other "Liz/Bookworm" and "Bex/Duchess". We decided we'll both be Cammie until we can find somebody AWESOME enough to fit the spot (Which, knowing Cammmie's awesomeness, will probably never. Unless I'm Cammie. Me being Cammie would just be plain awesome). But great job on the book! But me and my friend were wondering... The new uniform looks awesome and all, but... Why the change? And how will it fit into the story? GAH! The suspense is killing me! Write/Send/Review the book already! I want to read it. NOW.
