Today's Question: What do you want for my birthday?
It's another crazy busy day (hint: from now until...say...March 1, they will ALL be crazy busy days).
So unfortunately I don't have time to be clever. Sorry. True cleverness takes time and maybe a few Veronica Mars re-runs for inspiration, and I'm afraid I'm fresh out of both.
But I do have time to post another question of the day.
WHAT DO YOU WANT FOR MY BIRTHDAY?
No, you didn't read that wrong. At my office we have a tradition that the birthday girl (or boy) must bring in cake or whatever--that way no one has to keep track of that stuff. You're responsible for your own celebration.
I think it's a pretty good system, so since I can't possibly keep track of when all of you (the book and blog reading public) have birthdays, I thought I'd just give you all a gift on mine.
But what to get you? Any thoughts? Ideas? Inspiration?
Let's keep it within my budget and the laws of physics, but I'm hereby taking suggestions.

Well obviously it'd have to wait a few months, but of course, I'm sure we'd all love an ARC of Cross my Heart and Hope to Spy!

I want another girls' day. And Mexican food. But since that doesn't look to be of the possible, what I really want is for you to finish GG2 so that we can have some fun with the next project. :)
im guessing that some (if not all) of CMH is out of the question, but i think that some stuff out of LYKY that didnt make the "final cut" would be totally awesome. Happy Birthday!

If I could be a character...
Well, I don't think I do want to be any of the characters from my books, because I know them well enough to know the good part of being them and the bad part.
Cammie has lost her father and that's a tremendously terrible thing, so I don't want that.
And Bex never sees her parents, so that wouldn't be ideal either.
And Macey doens't have a good home life, either.
Liz does have a good family situation, but she's also pretty unsure of herself in anything not pertaining to books.
Rachel has lost a husband, so that's sad.
Julia from Solitaire and Gin has it pretty good, but still her life is hard a lot of the time.
So I think I'll just settle for being me.

hey Ally just a question
my younger sister is a really good writer and wants to e an author when she grows up. do you have any tips on how to help her achieve her dream?
What would I like?
There are a lot of things I'd like. But a lot of them would sound really selfish, even if they are within your budget and obeying the laws of physics.
I would like one of the following...
1.) Some hints for CMH. Or a minor scene or something.
2.) Deleted scenes of LYKY.
3.) To meet you. OK, so it's not really realistic, but if I had gotten my entry for the code contest probably a day earlier, I would have gotten to meet you. (But I can deal. The gift certificate is pretty darn spifty too)
