Nerd fighter challenge
As you can see from this, my favorite of the Brotherhood2.0 posts, John and Hank Green are all about Nerd Fighting (as long as it's about nerds fighting for truth and justice and not about other people beating up nerds, because that has another name--bullying.)
Now over on href="http://www.brotherhood2.com/">Brotherhood2.com
there's a challenge where people can pick which nerd they are and what their power would be, which has been cause for a lot of introspection here in Allyville because I honestly have no idea what type of nerd I am.
I blame going to a small school, because in small schools everyone does a little bit of everything.
The homecoming queen (not me) was frequently in FFA and honors English. It wasn't at all uncommon to see guys dressed in full football gear playing a tuba and marching with the band at halftime.
Make no mistake--I AM a nerd. But type of nerd I do not know.
Is watching too much TV adequately nerdy? If so, it seems that's an obvious choice for me. (My superpower could be Tivo-related, pausing and rewinding injustice.)
Or I could also be "Baking nerd" since I do love my Kitchenaid mixer a little too much. (I could use my wooden spoon and rolling pin to drive back the forces of evil.)
I could also be Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet nerd since I have spreadsheets for everything from shopping lists, to budgets, to break-even analyses for how many books I have to sell, to blueprints for the Ally dream house. (But doing battle with a mouse and laptop could be a little awkward.)
Book nerd seems a little obvious for an author. Plus, frankly, there are plenty of people who know more about books than I do since I haven't technically had an
English class since high school. (But it was a really good English class--hi Mom!)
I could also be cattle nerd, since, of the Brotherhood2.0 viewers that's the one I'm probably most uniquely suited for, but that might just be a little too unique, since I doubt most people will be intimidated by my vast knowledge ofstructural correctness and EPDs. (Even though this one could lend itself to some excellent weaponry.)
I would be March Madness Nerd, but I really have no desire to watch the NCAA tournament this year since my cowboys blew off one third of their season and are now sitting home inStillwater watching the people who want to still be playing ball...play ball.
So see, I'm really a hard-to-fit nerd. It's difficult. I need help.
So here's your challenge. 1. what kind of nerd should Ally be?
And 2. what kind of nerd are you and what is *your* superpower.
-Ally

your an author nerd...you fight by making your own words! and as for me...well i'm a cheer nerd-I yell a little too much(mostly in the hallways-it's a wonder I don't get in trouble all the time!!!)and most people make fun of my laugh..it too is loud!
I think you are wallpaper peeling nerd, and Michelle and I are your sidekicks!
My nerd song is coming... be afraid. Be very afraid.
I'm an everything nerd. My superpower is that I can like everything and everyone and not get made fun of for it. Well, except for the Spice Girls songs on my iPod...I get made fun of for that! I do like everything. Books, movies, music, science, Mythbusters, My Super Sweet 16, Gilmore Girls, math, video games, Jurassic Park, X-men, cooking, photography, makeup, and boys. See, the last two show I am a teenager!
I'm a Karate nerd!!! And Prooooud of it people. lol. I've been teaching Karate at my parents' martial arts school since I was eleven, and have been training there since I was three. Yup, I've been doing this a LOOONG time. Twelve years to be exact. So does the ability to kick boys' butts (and not to mention punch them, bite them, and pull their hair. But you know, in a very compassionate way lol.) count as a super power? If it does, then I am SOOOOO getting a cape!!!
I am a Smallville nerd! I llllllllloooooooovvvvvvveeeeee Superman and anything related to him!
Kimmie!
Oops! forgot about my superpower! Mine would probably be to.... do everything that Superman can do!!!!!
Kimmie!
you're an alias nerd!!!
I'm a crime novel nerd. My super power would be being able to predict "who done it" in every crime related book that I've ever read.
You're probably a TIVO nerd. You rely an awful lot on that gadget. Superpower would be thumb strength from pushing those remote buttons.
I am proud to be a nerd. I wrote an entire article on nerds (and how adults ought to support the smarts of their children and students so they aren't ashamed of those smarts).
I am a superhero. I have fairy wings. I act, I sing, I dance, I laugh, I take care of my cat, I take care of my customers, I dream, I wish, I believe, I hope.
i think you're an author nerd , like alex said, and im a booky, acting, never wears the right clothes, crushing, nerd because i love to read, act, im never in the right clothes for the right occasion(im always too dressed up or too dressed down), and im MAJORLY CRUSHING my superpower is probably spacing out and disappearing even when someones looking straight at me, unless theyre my friends
oh p.s. i go to a small school too and youre right ally it does affect everything you do. i do everything(maybe that makes me an everything nerd, hmmm)
Harry Potter Nerd! My power will be the ability to use a wand...
