weight watchers woes

First off, the stats:

Weight watcher points consumed yesterday: 22
Miles walked: 3
Pounds lost last week: 3

I'm confused. And obsessed. Two things that are pretty commonplace in my world, but for the life of me I can't wrap my mind around this weight watchers thing.

Like the 35 weekly allowance points? Some people say that you should use as few of your weekly points as possible, but some other people say you've got to use them all or your metabolism shuts down, and that seriously does not sound like a good thing.

And Diet Coke? What am I supposed to do about my Diet Coke habit? It's zero points, but then there's a massive arguement that artificial sweeteners are killing us all slowly!

I'm at a loss. I'm confused. I'm obsessed.

And hungry--did I mention hungry?

Congratulations on losing three pounds. I'm pretty sure I found your three pounds...and someone else's three pounds... Drink your Diet Coke, I'm sure the stress of writing a book on a deadline will kill you quicker than the artificial sweetners in Diet Coke. By the way, I don't think Mom used her flex points. :-)

Ally,

I'd drop the Diet Coke habit as soon as you can. You'll lose weight so much faster if you drink water. I know this from experience!! Also, it's oh so very toxic. The artificial sweetener actually makes your body think it is getting sugar, and then when it doesn't, it craves sugar, so you end up with this awful cycle and more sugar cravings.

OK, stepping off soap box. ;)

Hey, a girl is entitled to her diet coke fix! I personally haven't been drinking pop for a while now, but every now and then you just need some pop! It's totally a judgement call on your part Ally. I am currently debating just how much weight I would lose if I quit drinking sweet tea and switched to unsweet tea. If it's only a few pounds it's not worth it to me. I love sweet tea! So, again, it's a judgement call. Congratulations on your weight loss! Hang in there!

At least you lost three pounds! The diet coke thing doesn't apply to me...I don't like pop, soda or whatever you wanna call the carbonated drink.

No pop? Ummm...not in my world! That would mean no more Pepsi-float parties at my house...and I just couldn't do that to my friends. Guess I'll just have to take this one for the team... *sigh* Plus, that would probably mean no more Mountain Dew for breakfast, huh? That's like an every day thing on my trek to class. And no more Sweet Red Diamond Tea? I'm afraid not...

Keep up the good work! Just remember that if you drink a diet coke, you must also have a snickers. I think the diet coke cancels out the points of the snickers.

If you have a diet coke, my advise is to pour it into a glass filled to the brim with ice. Then as the ice melts you are drinking a little bit of water, and you end up drinking less coke. I've found I can make one can turn into 2 glasses of coke this way. Hope this helps :) Good luck!
