The light at the end of the tunnel
Well, CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO SPY is almost in the books. Literally.
For about a week now I've been working on the final round of proofreading and edits.
See. I offer proof (not to mention a sneak peek at chapter two for those of you with really good eyesight!

Ordinarily, I wouldn't show the world what a book looks like in its work clothes, but I personally love anything behind-the-scenes, and I thought some of you might feel the same way.

So there it is--the mysterious world of book writing in all its glory: red pencils, yellow Post-Its and popcorn. You don't get much more glamorous than that!

I am SO EXCITED about this next book! I just finished "I'd Tell I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You" last night. (While I technically was SUPPOSED to be asleep!) It was wonderful. You have captured all of the emotions that seem so huge in a teenage girl's life and made them so real! My friends and I are currently passing the book around.
I would like to remind you that even minimal cuss words do not enhance the quality of a book in any way. Thank you for your concern in writing "PG" works. I've finally found something acceptable to read. :-)
I love Post-Its. They're an awesome invention. Especially in the accounting world (and apparently the writing world also).
YAY for behind-the-scenes!
I already knew what manuscripts look like though, lol. Holly Black (author of Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale, and Valiant: A Modern Tale of Faerie) gave me and my friend the prologue and first chapter of her new book, Ironside, waaaaaay before it came out, when we met her last August (w00t for the Amherst Coffee Shop!). It was in manuscript form too. ^^ But still! YAY! And thanks for letting us read two pages from CMH! You rock, Ally.
I *heart* Post-Its now too, ever since you showed that picture of where you write, with the post-its everywhere. I started planning out my stories with them, cos if it worked for you, it should work for me, right? And now I love 'em. ^^
O_O I write a lot, don't I? Since I started checking this place again (life was pretty hectic for a while), I think all I've written are long posts. x.x
post-its are my best friends
im a REALLY big fan of yours. before your book "I'd Tell You I'd Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You." I wasn't a big fan of reading.in fact i used to think that the people in my class that would read all the time were weird .lol but then my friend told me about your book and i really needed a book for my 8th grade reading class so i said what the heck. and i went to the library to check it out.when i first started reading it , i was forced to read in my language arts class, but after the first chapter i got lost into the book, i lost track of time and i didn't care about what was happening around me, all i cared about was the book. it was an amazing feeling. After that i couldn't put the book down. I even read it in all my other classes. I actually got in trouble for reading in math can you believe that. lol. When I got home i went straight to my room and started reading when my friends would call would tell them i couldn't talk, i didn't even go on instant messenger for a week.Oh and by the way i did cry at the end of the book. I cant wait till the sequel.
I really hope Josh doesn't for get her because they had a really special relationship going on.=[[ Oh Please don't let him fall for De de that would kill me.lol If that happens im going to cry for days!!! I was actually kind of jealous of cammie. i mean she is a spy and every thing but she has 2 well now 3 best friends that are true to her and an amazing boyfriend.(if he doesn't for get)! All the guys at my school are jerks. well i just wanted to let you know how much your book impacted my life, and that you are a wonderful writer(my favorite) and if i might add, in your sequel i wont be disappointed if Cammie has to pick spy school or Josh and she picks Josh.lol but ik your the writer teehee
Hurray for high resolution! And of course sticky notes are a life saver especially for those with bad short-term memory. Thank you for the peek into your world of writing. do you stop to make more popcorn when you run out or work until the end of a paragraph/page/chapter then go make more?
