NY Times List...how it happens
Hey everyone,
It seems like lately (for obvious reasons) I'm getting asked A LOT of questions about how the New York Times Bestseller list is tabulated/determined/chosen. Whatever.
Well the truth is that it's, for the most part, a mystery how the Times list is determined. After all, if people knew exactly how books make it on the list then people would be able to manipulate the system.
But...today I ran across this great article that talks about the process. It doesn't say exactly how the list comes about (and for good reason), but it does break down some of the old myths.

Right. The oddest comes when Harry Potter is at number 2 this week - what's up with that? Didn't it just come out, the most anticipated book of the year? Stephanie Meyers must be selling one big warehouse of books to beat Rowling so soon. Or perhaps everybody bought the latest Potter the first day and now the sales have slumped, because everyone already has a copy.
Either way, like you said, the list is a big mystery.

Finished the book you told me to read by SM, and thanks to you I got nothing else done on Sunday. Now I am rereading it to catch the stuff I missed. I have the two sequels ordered, and understand the 4th is being written. I don't know wether to thank you or curse you. --Jonie

I LOOOOOOVE your books! And I was wondering if there was going to be a third Gallagher Girl Book. THOSE ARE THE BEST!! It sounded like there was going to be another by the end of the lastest book. So if there is when is it going to come out? Thank you so much!
I'm currently reading "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy" I really love it, I can hardly put it down. Can't wait for the third one to come out! :)
