Work Clothes: pajamas need not apply

My mom was my high school English teacher. You guys knew that, didn't you?

Well, anyway, she was, and so that meant my sister and I never rode the bus. Instead, we rode back and forth to school every school day of our lives in the car with our mother. We learned a lot of great things in the 30 minutes a day that we spent on that commute, but these days the things I keep thinking about the most are the two things our mother used to tell us almost every single day.

"Girls, the hardest part of my day is figuring out what to wear in the morning and what to cook for supper when I get home."

It's official. Parents really DO get smarter as we get older!!!!!

You know why I know this? Because I now have a different job which means a need for totally new work clothes.

But why would you need work clothes, Ally? You might say. You could work in your pajamas!

Which is great, except....

I COULD GO FOR DAYS ON END WITHOUT CHANGING OUT OF MY PAJAMAS!

Therefore I'm now in the market for comfortable non-pajama clothing.

Also non-yoga-pants clothing (since, let's face it, for people who don't actually DO yoga, "yoga pants" are outside pajamas.)

And I'm just saying no to pajamas!

Except for right now.

And later tonight.

And maybe tomorrow morning until about 11...

And...

Maybe Eddie Bauer can do express shipping on those cargo pants I just ordered.

nighty night,
Ally

OK, you need T-shirts (solid colors, nice detailing) and hoodies (cute ones, not scrubby ones) to start with. That way, you're layering (which usually makes someone look more put-together) and you're not really in pajamas. If you don't want to do hoodies, invest in some great cardigans, because even with t's they look good. The key is the layering. I find that I layer when I'm home for the day anyway, because my apartment can swing in temp throughout the day.

Then for bottoms, the cargo pants will be great, as will some comfy jeans, or even a couple of long, knit skirts (because, let's face it, long knit skirts have the feel of pajamas, but you're allowed to wear them to church!) So many pants have stretch in them now (even nice cords) that you can look really dressy but be SUPER comfortable.

Here's to finding clothes that you can actually answer the door in... :)

oooh...tough, but tres fun, assignment!! honestly, i'm a sweatshirt freak, so find a good comfy sweatshirt. and they actually make pants out of sweatshirt material, i'm so not joking. they're kind of comfy on the outside, but they've got that cool fleece-type feeling on the inside. cozy stuff!! stretchy type shirts that can be found in the exercise section of the store are also really nice. they're extremely comfy cause they usually have a smooth texture and they're always willing to stretch to your will. haha

I know what you mean!Im stuck with my flannel pajama bottoms (I own like a zillion of them). Try those with like shorts under neith and to make it go you could buy flannel pj bottoms that are big and roll the waist up. (Well that works for us 7th graders that just dont fell like getting out of bed with out our chocolate or something) And you could try hoddies but you might get hooked on them like me. Well i guess what im trying to say is DONT CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SAY ABOUT YOU!!! AS LONG AS YOU FEEL COMPTERBLE YOU LOOK GREAT and just to let you know some of thoes real expencive clothing that you'd say "I have to buy that" are not as compterble as they look. Trust me i know about that. ANd you should be glad you had your mom. ANd i know how it feel sto have parents who are teachers. Well both of mine use to be until they both because doctors.

I would say maybe REALLY comfy jeans or like these 4th of july shorts i got from Target that are really comfy,or maybe those pants that look like PJs but they really aren't. I know they exist, because my friend wore them to school the other day. personally, i would just go with the PJs but i really dont care about personal appearace. Just dont get anything really expensive because expensive stuff usually turns out to be less comfortable.

Aside from the obvious: Jeans, Tshirts, Hoodies...

Old Navy has these tres cute wide legged trousers. Some are wool but they're lined (read: No scratchiness) and they FEEL like PJ pants but LOOK like professional wear. I highly reccomend them....and they're SO CUTE!!

I just read CMHAHTS...

Oh god. Zach. Is. Mine.

I'm serious. Whenever I scene involved Zach and would get all happy and stuff, and when he wasn't in the scene I would read through until it got to Zach again and I got all happyish again.

Can I make a cameo appearance in GG3? Just so I can say I was in the same scene as Zach (if I am)...?

Please?

You rule, Ally!
