Reasons I'm concerned...
1. Sleeping.
I couldn't sleep last night. Which is WEIRD. I mean so totally weird that scientists should come study what's going on because...let's face it...I'm a world-class sleeper.
2. Cooking.
So today I'm making myself some chicken soup, but I have noticed a second weird trend--I am no longer a good cook. I mean, seriously, I used to be a far better than average cook, but lately everything I make is...bad. And this is a source of some serious concern.
3. General mental capacity.
So yesterday I was doing stuff to my Myspace page and I happened to glance at my author photo that's up there. And I thought, "hey, what earrings am I wearing?" And then I proceeded to try everything to remember those earrings. And then I looked everywhere for those earrings. And then I found them in an old purse, but I had to wonder how it was that I had TOTALLY forgotten about my favorite pair of earrings.
4. Addiction.
It's true that I've never been addicted to drugs (unless you count Diet Coke. And chocolate.) but I had the feeling yesterday that writing is kind of like being an addict because when it's going well it's like a high. And when it's going badly it's the lowest of lows. And in the middle you stop washing your hair.
So see? I have a lot of things on my mind.
In other news, many, many thanks to all of you who have asked me to come doing signings where you live! That would be SOOOOO much fun! But, unfortunately, that's not really the way it works. But I will pass those cities on to the good people at Hyperion and, if possible, we'll do what we can in the future.
have a great day!
Ally

YOU SHOULD COME TO CINCINNATI!!! OR LEXINGTON, my mom would take me there too. BUT WE LIVE IN CINCINNATI!!!
Be sure to put Mt laurel/marlton/cherry hill/anywhere near those places on the list!! =)
--hmmmm....when I write I get really trapped in what I'm doing (just like you said)but I'm not addicted to Diet Coke..chocolate YES, bus not Diet Coke (Ginger ale)
--the cooking, well....I'm, like, only twelve so...I wouldnt be able to tell you anything about MY past experience (ehem....none) =P
--I'm also addicted to reading,
--AND AS FOR SLEEPING: I DONT GET ANY. Mainly because of my main problem....
I'M NOT AN EARLY RISER, AND A VERY BIIIIIIG NIGHT-OWL. seriously. I will not go to sleep. Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever GO TO SLEEP!!
=\
Hehehe,
I laughed throughout your post. :)Thanks for brightening my day, even though some the things you mentioned are probably not putting a smile on your face.
Oh, and if you're still taking cities to visit, Madison, WI would be awesome. And if not that, then Milwaukee.
<3
well mabye your thinking to hard about gg3?
Hey Ally.. I loved GG1, but no matter how hard I look, I just cannot seem to find the second one. And that cities list? How bout the Delmarva Peninsula or more specifically, Sussex County, DE. We'd love you..

Wow. Sometimes at work, I pass a poster, and wonder how long it has been there and why haven't I noticed it before. Then there's that Twilight Zone episode where a couple wake up and find themselves on the SET of their lives, about an hour before that particular minute of their lives is to happen.
Perhaps, everytime that we wake up, we find ourselves in another parallel world, with something just a little bit different. (Like you can't find a pen you had yesterday.)
It can't be something nefarious like your forgetting tea, because then you wouldn't notice it, right? Maybe your brain is rerouting your mental resources to help your writing, and your other talents will manifest again when you finish your novel. Or you're empathizing with Cammie's mother, who can decode Enigma transcripts upside down and backwards, but who has trouble reading the microwave instructions for frozen pizza.
Please add Houston Texas to your list. There are so man y book stores. Also, I don't know if you do signings here, but Mexico City would be nice. I'm homeschoold and my family lives their and I go their often.
ooooooo.....it would be so totally awesome if you came to St. Louis!!!!
But about the sleeping problem Ally, i can completely relate--i have insomnia and have tried everything (sleeping pills, meditation, you name it). but it comes in handy, you know, when you want to finish a book....i can stay up reading all night ;o) when GG2 came out i stayed up till 4:30 when i finally finished it.
And the baking thing....well, i can't relate to....i burnt oatmeal the last time i tried to make it (enough said)
anyhoo, buh-bye
ari
i am addicted to reading, if i don't have a book to read, it drives me bonkers! well, as to the chocolate and diet coke thing, i am not really addicted to either. i am a night owl and an early riser. well, anyways... nighty-night everyone!

Hey, can you add Glendale, AZ to your list, pleeeeeeeaaasssseee!! Or just post wherever your book signings would be, because I can't really travel that much (I haven't even visited places here in GLENDALE!)! and I just came here like, almost 6 months. Shouldn't I get a trip to the places here?!?
Anyway, I'm addicted to Diet Coke and chocolates too, but sometimes I mix Diet with Reg.
Oh, pppllllleeeeeaaaaasssse have time to ask Hyperion about this places, especially here. We will bring cookies, even Diet COke and chocolates if you want. c=
hmmm.....well can u plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz plz put susuin, fairfield california on that list plz plz plz plz :D
i agree with awaks!!! Come to St. Louis (the Lou) because even if you only have a few fans here (which i doubt that) that means you'd have more time to spend with each of us and that would totally rock!!!!! Just pass through, please, even if you drive by in a limo and wave that would be enough. Not really, but you get my point...
Yes, yes, writing is very much like a drug! Had to de-lurk to co-sign on that one.
seattle likes you too...lol *coughhintcough*
hmmm....
well...maybe you can't sleep because of all the diet coke...the chocolate could also be a very good awakening-inducer. haha
as for cooking...maybe you just need to spend an afternoon baking chocolate chip cookies. i mean...you can't really mess them up. they're good no matter what form they come out of the oven in!!
on the writing...just let it come!! it will!!
briana

Anyway, the shirts are finished, check your email for pics, yada yada yada. :) If you want more info on them, then check the post about the signing in Texas.
