Deleted Scenes..AGAIN
Found another one. Initially, this scene replaced the scene where Cammie searches Rachel's office and finds the picture. But then my editor wisely suggested that the picture of Mr. Solomon and Cammie's dad come to Cammie as a result of their investigation--that they EARN it, and of course she was right.
Still, I thought you guys might like this (since, so far, the scraps seem to be something of a hit.)
oh, and by the way, there are LYKY deleted scenes on the blog from about a year ago. Just go up to the little search box up above and search for them. They're there.
later gators,
Ally
As we made yet another turn I realized we weren’t walking anywhere in particular. We were just…walking.
It’s a basic rule of CoveOps to be a moving target, so that night I walked with Joe Solomon through dim corridors and down deserted halls until we found ourselves at the far end of the second story of the mansion. Stone steps spiraled from the first floor, past a massive stained glass window that had once been heart of the Gallagher Academy Chapel, and as Mr. Solomon sat on the fourth step from the bottom I wondered if he’d come there for confession.
“So,” he started, sounding uneasy, as if the words were foreign to him. “I was home over the break,” he said and I thought Joe Solomon has a home? I never really thought about our teachers outside of work and the fact that a man like Mr. Solomon might live somewhere seemed amazing to me. Mr. Solomon is someone’s neighbor. Mr. Solomon has a mortgage.
“And I was cleaning out my basement.”
“And I found these,” he said, as he reached into his pocket for a manila envelope. “I could have brought them to class…” he placed the envelope in my hand “…but I didn’t think…” he trailed off, and for the second time in seven minutes Joe Solomon didn’t have the strength or courage to say what came next.
The weight was uneven, like a puzzle that’s been broken apart and a part of me wanted to shake it. If Liz had been there she probably would have rushed it immediately to the lab for analysis, but all I could do was stare at it, wondering what was so important Joe Solomon had pulled it from the basement and given it to me.
“They’re pictures,” he said.
“Of your dad.”
I felt the cold stone seep through my jeans as I sank to the bottom step without realizing I was no longer on my feet. The envelope lay in my hands like an offering in that holy place, and even though Mr. Solomon’s knee pressed against my shoulder, even though his breathing was the only sound in that vast, deserted hallway I forgot I wasn’t alone.
“I thought you should have them,” Mr. Solomon said. “He’d want you to have them.”
Of course I already had pictures of my father, hundreds of them--the kind you keep pasted in books and the kind you keep frozen in your mind. Even without spy training I would still remember his face, his smell, the way his hands fit around my waist as I stood on his toes and danced on the kitchen floor. But sitting there that night with Joe Solomon I knew there was a side of my father I had never seen, I remembered that the man inside that envelope was in most ways a stranger.
I felt Mr. Solomon stand slowly and take a step away from me, up the stairs.
***
As I sat on the cold stone steps, watching the moonlight fallthrough the big stained-glass windows my internal clock must have switched off, because when I finally made it back upstairs and opened the door to our suite, Liz met me at the door, shouting, “Do you know what time it is?” and for the first time in years I didn’t know the answer.
“So?” Bex said, rushing forward. “What did Solomon want?”
Even Macey dropped her books to look at me as I walked toward my bed. Down the hall, the common room was quiet.
“Cammie,” Liz said, her voice dripping with fear and excitement and smelling like Aquafresh. “What happened?”
I placed the envelope on my bed. “He had some old pictures of my dad he wanted me to have,” I said as I started changing into my pajamas walking toward the bathroom.
“Ooh, let me see—" Liz said, grabbing the envelope before I could stop her.
“No, I—"
But it was too late, the envelope was already open and pictures were falling to my bed.
“Ooh,” Macey said. “Hottie.”
“Yeah,” I said, “Mr. Solomon is very—"
“Not Mr. Solomon, silly,” Macey said. “Your dad.” She eyed the picture in her hands. “He’s got that whole strong, silent type thing going on.”
“How can you tell?” Liz wanted to know because…well…Liz never passes up an opportunity to learn something.

~ari :o)
i only found one deleted scene for lyky. are there more that i'm just missing?
Ally-
Just finished your first GG book. I went to high school in the County Seat and we graduated the same year. Great to see a home town girl do great things. Saw the review in the hometown gazette and picked it up to read with my Middle School girls. Congrats on your success and can't wait to see the screen adaption. J.Fowler Tiger'93
you know, i really liked this one. we got to see a softer side to mr. solomon. it was almost unfamiliar to hear him talk without his normal gruff edge. i really liked it.
Briana
i gotta b totally honest, i absolutely LOVEEE your deleted scenes, but i love the ones with zach or josh more... do you more of them???? lol

Thnx Soooooo... much for all the deleted scenes you put up Ally. I really luv reading all of them soooooo.... mcuh!!! Plz, plz, plz, plz put up more!!! Thanks again!!
i liked being able to see the softer side of mr. solomon. it was nice to see him being a real person and not just the coveops teacher. thanks for the extras! it makes waiting for the next one easier!
~Phoebe
Hmmm, I like the ending with Macey saying he's a "Hottie"...
Hahaha...I'll search for the LYKY deleted scenes =)
Thanks, Ally, you really made my day after learning that I got a C on my science mid term =(
DELETED SCENES ARE THE BEST!!
Hope you find more,
Alex
omg!!!! another great deleted scene. i love this one too. ally, if you have any more from either book please put them up! i love mr.soloman too. cant wait till gg3!
This scene was amazing!! I love how you see a softer side of Mr. Soloman. It reminds me of the scene in LYKY where he talks about her dad. Thanks SOOO much for the deleted scene, I love them all!!!
i love this scene! i really like reading about mr.solomon. i like how he told cammie about the pictures and how we got to see a softer side of him. keep the deleted scenes coming!
i like the scene, but i think it was kind f rude of Cammie's friends to just take the envolope, when it was something personal for Cammie, even if they are best friends.
That was a great scene! Thanks for answering my question on your last blog entry! I like it that you put up the deleted scenes on your site too!
<3 Renee
awwwww. mr.solomon is so cute in this scene. i like seeing the softer side of him. he seems to act differently whenever he talks about cammie's dad.
please keep posting deleted scenes. especially ones with mr.solomon or zach if there are any left.
oh yeah..and josh from lyky.
please let us know when gg3 is coming out. i cant wait!
that kinda left me sad that cam's friends would just take the pics away from her when they were obviously personal. but in a on the edge of my seat kind of sad! lol. thank you.
That was a really good scene, but i think i like the one in the book more. It's cool to be able to see another side of Mr. Solomon. As for whether or not cammie's friends were rude...well, they're spies. They investigate everything.
*Marina*
I definitely like it where she finds the picture in her mom's office. And I like the way that in the real version Macey doesn't know who the man in the picture is when she calls him a hottie.
Thanks for reminding me that there's always more than one way to tell a story....=)
Hi ally! i know that this has nothing to do with the deleted scene ( which was AWSOME by the way ) but i just had to post a comment about this :
ITS SNOWING!!!
I'm from South Carolina so snow isnt exactly a regular thing considering how hot it usally is here. the last time it snowed was like 4 or 5 years ago! its nothing much, just flurries that melt as soon as they hit the street. but STILL! atleast its somthing lol! : )
well i just wanted to tell you and everybody that comes on your site about this really awsome occasion in my young life. ( soon to be 13 years by the way )
Cant wait for GG3 and sorry about taking up a huge chunk of your comment list but i was reeeeeally excited as you can tell! lol!
P.S i just bought LYKY today at books-a-million ( LOVE that place ) and i already have Cross My Heart so i'm just waiting for GG3 to come out. : ) btw i've read CMH so much that i know practicly every line word for word! so needless to say I LOVE THAT BOOK!!!
-gallaghergirl95
i like that scene better than the real scene in the book
I loved it. But why do you keep putting the supportAnnotations and endif in there?
Thanks.
Meshe<33
i love this scene. i like the one in the book too but this one is amazing. please put up more deleted scenes. i dont know what i will do without them! ha. great work ally!

back to the gg...
i love them sooo much. they rock. they seem so smart and pretty and perfect role models. i cant wait till gg3 comes out. i think josh still remembers. i dont know i just have that feeling. but i am probably wrong. so i took up so much space. please post more deleted scenes for us!
This post has been removed by a blog administrator.
sorry, that is how i feel today
I totally love that you're sharing all these deleted scenes with us Ally! They make the GG experience so much more exciting and fun! Thanks so much! :)
i love every deleted scene you put up. this scene is great. i love seeing a different mr.solomon. we are used to the spy mr.solomon, but seeing a softer side is nice. she seems a little awkward in this scene, like he doesnt know what to say to cammie. please, please, please put up more deleted scenes. even if you think that there is a good reason they didnt appear in the book, im sure we will love them.
Oh, that was uber awesome!
that scene was amazing and i totally loved it. mr.solomon is one of my fav characters and so i love reading about him. i like how he showed cammie the pictures, but i still like the scene in the book better. mr.solomon is still in that scene a little. whennever a new deleted scene is posted, i always reread the part it would have replaced and see which scene i like better. pretty, pretty please post some more deleted scenes. i will die if you dont. they are holding me over until gg3 comes out!

hey ally. i LOVED this scene. please put more deleted scenes up. they are sooo good. i cant believe some of them couldnt get into the book. but i like the scenes you desided to put in the book too. i have a few questions...
i noticed mr.solomon said pictureS with an s. was there oringally supposed to be more than 1 picture or am i just reading to far into it.
and...on the cover or each book, there is a girl that i am assuming is cammie. the uniforms are very cute by the way. but i noticed they had different skirts. they had the same patttern but one was blueish and the other was green. maybe im reading too far into it again, but i was just wondering if there was a reason for that.
please, please post more scenes. they are amazing!
WOW I LOED IT!!!!!!!!!! SOO-O-OO GOOD!! but yeah, our editor was right too. although i kinda liked them both a LOT. idk which one i like better! anyways, can NOT wait for that next book!!!!!! good luck on that editing!
AWESOME!!!! I loved it! PLEAZE more deleted scenes! HAVE ONE WITH JOSH IN IT! HE"S SO HOT! HE"S PERFECT FOR CAMMIE! I LOVE HIM! I DON"T LIKE ZACK!
ally i am going so crazy i finished both books about maybe about 100 times sense they came and know i don't have a book and i really need one i am going crazy because i am bored out of my skull also another thing not knowing the title of the book and not knowing if zack is going to to be in gg3 please give us a hint. also happy belated birthday.and will you please give us that beginning of that scene with zack and Cammie with dillion

Spy High
Sure, teen secret agents James Bond and Alex Rider have generated a lot of heat in the book market in the past couple of years. But the spy game is hardly just a guy game. Cammie Morgan, a star pupil at boarding school cum spy-training center Gallagher Academy, is a character with a series on the rise. She made her butt-kicking debut in I’d Tell You I Love You, But Then I’d Have to Kill You by Ally Carter (Hyperion, 2006). Cammie’s second action-filled adventure, Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy bowed last October with a first printing of 75,000 copies. To date, combined sales of both books (including I’d Tell You’s paperback edition) have topped 300,000 copies; film rights to I’d Tell You have been optioned by Walden Media.
“My daughter is 12 ½ and the perfect age for these books,” says Becky Smith, manager of Town Crier Bookstore in Emporia, Kans. “She likes that Cammie is a strong, smart girl still interested in boys, but not ga-ga over them. She’s a kind of 007 for girls.”
oh my god! i loved that scene. mr.solomon doesnt really know what to say and that is weird coming from him. i dont know if i like the book scene bettter or this scene. please, please, please, put up more deleted scenes. with josh, zach, or mr.solomon, and of course cammie! please tell us what the title of gg3 is. i cant wait. i have nothing to read!
Great scene! Too bad it got cut. I can see how the final version made the story more mysterious, though. Thanks! :0)
i love that scene so much. but i still like the one in the book better. i agree that it is better that cammie found the picture.
i just read one of your diary entries from november. and you answered some questions on it. one of the things you said was that gg3 will start in the summer and go into the 1st semester. is this still true? just wondering.
please post more deleted scenes. as you can see we <33 them!
OMG ALLY!
I already posted a while back, but i just got one of my most favorite clothing catalouges in the mail yesterday and guess what was in it?
A whole HALF PAGE advertising LYKY AND CMH!!! Do you know what this means??? Your books are in my favorite clothing stores catalouge!!!!
It took so much for me not to scream and run around like crazy!!
*Marina*
YAY ALLY!!!

when you are on a diary entry, there is a search blog in the top left corner. type in it
deleted scenes
then hit enter (of course) and a bunnch of links should pop up. then just click on the one u want. here is a link, i dont know if it will work.

Really cool. . . I really enjoy reading the books and the deleted scenes. I find myself wanting to be a girl at gg too. haha. I can't wait for the next book. Love ya,
Nike
It was good. It shows that Joe actually is kinda nice, but I like the one in the book too. It does help explain though why Cammie's mom had them
cool! awesome! totally amazing! and just when ARE you going to write GG3?!?!?!
Mr. Soloman is so expectedly unexpected that it's unexpected. Does that make sense? Thanks for the scene!! :-D
