Operation Evil Cabinets

The target: Ally's pretty (yet internally evil and ultimately poorly designed kitchen cabinets)

The mission: To infiltrate the evil cabinet organization and change their very makeup.

Yes. It's true. I'm still hung up on the cabinet thing. I was kinda sorta starting to get over it, until I got to feeling better last night and decided to unpack the final boxes.

And one was a box of bowls.

And none of the bowls could fit in the upper cabinets! At all. And these are perfectly NORMAL sized bowls!

(Yes, this is what constitutes drama in my life.)

But the good news is that I ventured to Home Depot today and was informed by a very knowledgeable-appearing kitchen remodeling professional that it might be possible to de-evil my cabinets!

(Also known as a cabinet exorcism.)

I'm still not sure on the details, or even how high this should be on my priority list. But it's possible. And that gives me hope.

OMG, thank you SO much, Ally!!! I was DYING to post a comment! I am so glad you had a great trip to Arizona! And I just want you to know that I totally look up to you, and your one of my inspirations!!! I am now trying to write a book. (I started it yesterday) but I also can't forget the help of another GREAT author that is from my own town that wrote a book that's set in our town!(Sarah Beth Durst - she's really great - I got my book autographed by her!) Now with the help of you two, I can do what I always wanted to do. Thanks so much! (And good luck with your cabnits and Home Depot - you can do it - they can help) :)

Congratulations again on your new house! I hope your cabinets can be exorcized. Is that a word? Haha, anyway, I hope GG3 is going good, I can't wait to read it! =)
I'd also really love it if at some point you could make it way down south to Columbus, Georgia for a signing. ;-)

Sweet! First,I am glad to hear you had a great time in AZ! You were so awesome and nice. (If any of you ever get the chance to meet Ally...DO IT!)

Second, I am glad comments are enabled.

Hopefully your evil cabinet renovations won't take too long...I don't want anything to disrupt you too much from writing GG3 (or Kat, because she sounds like she has a story to tell). :-)

Hey Ally,

Well, I'm new to the whole "Ally's Diary" thing, and I just wanna say that you have a pretty hilarious life. Your cabinets for example, well, I've never heard anyone express their woes about their cabinets the way you do. So good luck with that. I also just wanted to say that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your novels...Love You, Kill You and now that Cross My Heart is out, I'm waiting until tomorrow afternoon where I can run to Chapters after school and buy it.

Also...V. V. Very excited about the third book.

You have done an amazing job with the Gallagher Girls and I can't help but hope you make more and more and more books about them, because I just cannot get enough of Cammie, Liz, Bex and the gang.

Again, thanks so much for these books.
You're the BEST!!!

it's possible to de-evilify cabinets? truly? i was thinking as i read your post that you could always take one of those handsaws and just totally cut out that annoying middle section that causes so many problems...maybe that's what they mean by de-evilifying? hmmm?? it's cause for wonder...

Great blog, Ally.

FYI - Did you see George Lucas discuss the Indiana Jones "MacGuffin's" in Vanity Fair?

And thought you'd like a "Where are the Veronica Mars stars" now?
Veronica - brief stint on Heroes
Logan - Moonlight
Piz - Private Practice
Parker - Eli Stone
Can you think of any more?

Good luck with your new house! Your kitchen is beautiful, but I admit, the cabinets do have an evil "air" about them. :) It sucks that nothing with fit, especially the baked Lays!! Perish the thought!! :~)

I know this is off topic, and whoever is monitoring the comments with probably delete this part, but, I was wondering when you were going to do a Questions and Answers thing again? I really enjoyed that and I have some new questions! Hee hee!

Yay! Congrats on the new house (minus the cabinets). I just have to know, though - was the really cool author who you mentioned liked your books in Phoenix, Stephenie Meyer? Hey What's up?

Just sayin congrats on the new house and everything. I also wanted to say that I can't wait until your new GG3 book comes out. It's totally what I'm into. Is there a possibility that you will be releasing the title and basic storyline soon? I can't wait to know when it comes out! I'm gonna go by it 1st thing that day. Is there any possibility that it will be out by summer? Have you noticed that I LOVE your books? You just know how to say everything so perfectly to get the point across. The reader totally knows how the characters feel. that's so great. And remember, if you're ever in Music City, I'd love to get my books signed! (Nashville)

Yay for comments being reenabled!

lol about the evil cabinets. They truly are evil if bowls don't fit at the top.

I'm not sure if this will be able to go on, because technically it's not about the books. however, i will try.

Ali: I'm not sure if anyone answered your questions about books...

My Sister's Keeper is about a thirteen-year-old girl named Anna who was born simply to be a donor for her older sister who has been fighting against cancer. Anna decides she's had enough of being a donor against her will and sues her parents for her freedom. It's really good.

And Sarah Beth Durst wrote Into the Wild and its upcoming sequel Out of the Wild. It's about twelve-year-old Julie who is the daughter of Rapunzel. Yes, that Rapunzel, from the fairy tale. All the fairy tale characters escaped from the fairy tale called the Wild, a tangle of vines currently kept under Julie's bed. Yeah...Julie just can't be normal. But then the Wild escapes, and to save her town, Julie must enter the Wild. It is such a good book, especially if you love fairy tales.
