A blog...in pictures.

Several of you have asked how my trip to Arizona went a few weeks ago, to which I have to reply...

THERE WERE LIBRARIANS/TEACHERS IN GALLAHGER ACADEMY T-SHIRTS!!!!!

How could it have been anything but awesome?

I got to talk to hundreds of middle school students!

(Note how the arrival of this picture closely preceded my re-enrollment in diet church. I mean Weight Watchers.)

And sign what felt like thousands of books!

And see probably the greatest school bulletin boards...

... in the history of school bulletin boards!

(I highly recommend clicking on this one to make it really big because the little details in it are AMAZING!)

So how could it have been anything but wonderful?

A lot of you have also been asking how my cabinet exorcism went.

Well...it wasn't actually the exorcism itself. There were no hammers or crowbars or crucifixes or anything. But we did look over the situation and there is hope!

Of course, I was warned, that my cabinets will never be the wonderful cabinets of which I've always dreamed, but they may be able to--with a few alterations--become functioning members of kitchen society.

We'll get new doors.

And lose the terrible, awful brace thing...

that makes it impossible for me to remove my dinner plates without first turning them at a thirty degree angle.

And we might even be able to add some awesome features!

Like two of these!

And maybe even something like this!

And if all goes well, I might have soon have something like this!

Oooh. Look at me--I'm all a flutter!

I don't know if it's the cabinets or this...

That's right--CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO SPY is at Wal-Mart.

WAL-MART--the holy grail of retail!

People are going to go in looking for laundry detergent and tortilla chips and they're going to see it. And maybe buy it.

Now I know some of you might not think this is a big deal because maybe you've got a bookstore right across the street, but where I come from...you've got nothing across the street except cows and maybe some big round bales of hay. In fact the only place that sells books in about a five county radius of where I used to live is Wal-Mart.

So...yay!

My book is at Wal-Mart (and right next to my friend Lauren Myracle's awesome books! Double yay!)

That's it.

I need to go lie down.

Congratulations on your book being at Wal-mart! When I was growing up, Wal-mart was the only place within roughly 60 miles of us that sold books. Very exciting.

Wow Allie, don't over excite yourself. Ha.

It's great that you might be able to get your cabinets to, y'know, be cabinets that actually work.

Oh, and I have a question. Is it only in Arizona that things like Roseville buttons and Gallagher Girl T-Shirts are available? Because I SO want some. SO much.
Keep on writing.

Having your book at Wal-mart is, like, a new level of retail-ness. because I don't think anyone in the grand ol' US of A has never been to Wal-Mart. so yeah. :)

Crossing my fingers for the cabinet's to be de-evilfied. The ones you choose were so georgous. They are perfect.

Your book is sold at Wal-Mart! That is so cool, even though in my town there is no Wal-Mart. When I go and visit my grandma next time I will totally look for it!

wow, you DO look different than your book picture! And GUESS WHAT? We just had a Scholastic Book Fair Fundraiser thing at my school yesterday, and they sell all these cool books for kids in middle school, and I saw your books 1+2 and convinced someone to by the first one! Now I'll know they'll be hooked and get the second one. And, now that I'm really into spys, I bought THE SQUAD 1+2 and I also bought THE SPECIALISTS at the book fair, another book about spies... who are coincidentally 16!
Anyway, I'm totally hooked on spies, so I'm totally waiting for the 3rd!!!!!

First of all, your books ROCK. They totally deserve to be at Wal-Mart. Heh. Whenver I think of Wal-Mart I always think of that rollback smiley-face guy, even though they don't show those commercials in my area anymore. I mean, those commercials basically MADE Wal-Mart = Smiley Rollback Guy. Have you ever seen the commercials?

Congrats Ally! And I'm so happy...you're at....Wal-Mart! Which also means you're like at, wal-mart online. And which means you're like...a celebrity!!!! Which you are, of course.

And I'm also happy about your de-eviling the cabinets adventure. I love the last picture of cabinets...they are so....fancy!

And what happened to that title contest? GG3...

This was totally youre day! You're de-evilfying the diabolical cabinets and got super pretty and organized cabinets!

Then, your books are at Wal-Mart! If they are at one Wal-Mart, your books are at all and there are like at least 5,000 stores nationwide! That really DOES make you a celebrity!

And the Gallagher Girls T-Shirts are super cute!

YAY ALLY!!!!!

Oh, and Ally, you're gonna die when you hear this.

Guess where my mom bought Cross My Heart? You named it....Wally World! Just thought you should know.

So come see us....Columbia, SC. We love good books (considering there is nothing else to do around here....) So come visit us!!!

I'm so happy that your book was at Wal-Mart, because, just like you, I live about 45 minutes away from the nearest wal-mart. Well, I hope you're writing GG3! You can only read the two so much. And I'm not lying, test me with the plastic ring that shakes when you lie.
