16 Favorite Things
Hi guys!
We just got word that LYKY is still on the top 10 of the New York Times bestseller list.
That's 16 weeks, people!
As in...four months!
So, to celebrate...
1. food: tough one...probably pork roast with mashed potatoes and gravy
2. movie: really tough one...but I think either Roman Holiday or To Kill a Mockingbird. Either way, I love me some Gregory Peck.
3. book: TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD
4. reality show: Project Runway
5. thing I've purchased recently: a really small TV that hangs over my treadmill.
6: season: spring
7. holiday: Easter
8. article of clothing: STRETCHY PANTS!!!
9. luxury item: Netflix
10: sport: (to play or to watch? Oh, who am I kidding? I'm not going to play, so I'll say watch) college basketball. Or college football. I have no use whatsoever for the pros.
11. part of any of my books: the ruby slippers scene in Cross My Heart
12: line in any of my books: "Crying is like everything else we do--it's best if you don't get caught."
13: author working today: too many to count, so I'll just say Rick Riordan since the Percy books just keep getting better and better (and, let me tell you, that's waaaaay easier said than done!)
14. place I've ever been: I went to Scotland once when I was in high school and it seemed very much like the kind of place where a person could be supremely happy.
15. compliment: two way tie between "I couldn't put your books down" and "it's nice to have found books that my daughter and I can read together."
16. flower: Zinnias

Since u mentioned it and I don't think I've said so yet...I really really loved ur books and when I first read LYKY for the first time I could NOT put it down. I stayed up practically all night and then made myself go to sleep...woke up and finished it. (Dec, 2006) And then, of course, I looked up your website to see if there was a sequel yet.

It's so fuuny you said that because when I went to barnes and nobles and picked out your book, LYKY, I thought it sounded great. I read some of it there and when my mom came and picked me up she asked me what books I got and I told her. It turns out that she had also gotten your book, but on tape.She got it at a store for herself while I picked your book for myself.
What is the ruby slipper scene in CMHS?

This has nothing to do with what you posted but i was watching nickelodeon w/ my lil sis and i saw a comercial for iCarly and she was going to an interview to go to a school called BRIARWOOD PREP!!!!!! I was about to yell that Briarwood was a boy school when i remembered that this was only in your books!!!!
WTG Ally! To Kill a Mockingbird is still my favorite book ever! I read it at least once a year.

OMG! my fav. reality show is project runway, too! I remebered the ruby slippers scene in CMH. That was one of my favorites.
Just wanted to let you know that after I got LYKY, a lot of people were asking to borrow it in my class. Then after I read the sequal, an 8th grader came up to me and asked me for the second one. Then she told me she finished it in one day! (I finished it in two). She told me, after she was done reading it, that she didn't expect it and she said that you should definately make a third one. I told her you were and she got really excited.

to kill a mocking bird is one of my favorite books. to all who might try to read it...if you think it is boring in the beginning dont stop it is worth it trust me....and watch the movie after cuz it helps explain stuff.
WOW! All my fave authors fave book is "To Kill A Mockingbird"! That is freaky. It must be pretty good so when I get finished with the books I'm reading now which are like...5, I am so going to borrow it from the library!!!! Plus you sound so surprised that LYKY made it 16 wks. You should have known because it is an AWESOME book! Congrats!
i agree with whoever wrote the second comment! I LOVE your books and CAN'T wait for #3! And I know we would all love to find out when you think it might come out! You don't have to even give us and exact date because I bet you don't even know yet or even the title even thought the title would be nice too, still I can't wait to find out when it will come out!

Hey Ally! I read your books awhile ago, but I just discovered your blog like today when I was searching for info about the 3rd book! I am so excited to find out when it comes out, and I'm personally DYING to know more about Zach--he's my abosolute favorite--so complex and mysterious! I just reread CHS, and I've never been very patient, so I'm way super pumped about GG3!!! I also love Josh though- I hope they BOTH come back (though I'm more attached to Zach =p). Hi i would just like to say i luv you books, this is the ifrst comment i every posted on your page. I have a comment about To Kill I Mockingbird. It was a book we had to read during the summer, and it was one of the only books that i liked that was forced on to me to read.
Yay! congrats on 16 wks ally! and im so happy that ur books r @ target! i was @ target yesterday and was about 2 go look @ the books but we had 2 leave so i havnt seen them yet, but i did see them @ wal-mart! but i like target waaay more so im glad that ur books r there now. I <3 target! lol.

my english class just finished reading to kill a mocking bird. i thought it started out a little boring but it got way better toward the end.
My english class just read To Kill A Mockingbird (well some ppl because half read monster) And now we are watching the movie(i had to read it in 8th)sp yeah.

I see your books all the time! everywhere! No, but seriously, I did absolutely LOVE CMH. I always tell everyone that it's the best book ever. Is the ruby slippers scene the one where she meets up with Zach in the corriders and they go into CODE RED after the final exam with the strapless dress? If it is, then that's my favorite scene too. If not, then... oops!
