Be a good daughter.

Spend time with her. They like that.

Take her out to lunch or dinner.

Have a girl's day out and pay for everything.

Give her a mani pedi or something at a spa.

Clean her house for her.

Something she's been complaining she wants.

Anything that comes from the heart!

Buy her some good books, make her a cd of her favorite songs, write a story or poem about how much you appreciate her, get her a gift card to her favorite store, treat her to a day at the spa, or treat her to dinner. You're a writer, I'm sure you can think of something creative. Good luck!!

I agree with Pricilla, but have you every seen the Willow Tree Angels they sell at Halmark? They are really pretty, and my mom LOVES them. There are also about 50 different ones. Hope this helps!

I'm in the "do something with her" camp. Take her out to play. Go to the movies. Eat. Whatever you two like to do together.

Maybe find out what one of her favorite things are and run with it.

Ex: Their favorite animal is a tiger. You could take lots of tiger pictures and put it on a collage on the back of a clear glass plate or bowl. Then use modge podge to stick it to the bowl. It looks really cool!

just for a different idea:

find some pics of you when you were little and some more recent and put them in one of those photo collage frames she would enjoy that i know my mom would

Not necessarily something store-bought. A hand-written card, a poem, something that shows that you love her. Not that store-bought is bad, though.

Dear Ally,

I know that once your past a certian age, you should start showing the dough on presents... but still mothers like things home-made. Make her something special.

Good Luck with Mother's Day & GG3,

(P.S. Not that u need luck! :-D)

Write of some of your favorite memories with her in the past. Make it special. I know that she'll love whatever you decide.

get her a signed copy of your book, just kidding! Get her something really special like a letter or gift she gave you when you were a kid that you have kept for all this time. Also, you could make her a homemade card with a story or poem telling her about how much you appreciate her as your mom. You would do that well since you're a writer.

Give her one of the small things she loves (My mom hearts chocolate roses, for example) for each of the things you like about her. (i.e. 7 candies or whatever she likes for the seven things you love about her.) Put them in a box or bag all wrapped up in her favorite color(s). (Since if you haven't noticed, there's no theme colors for Mothers Day.) Include a list, note, or card that explains what they mean. And be a good girl ! (You know, if she likes coffee in the morning, bring it to her in bed made exactly the way she likes it w/ her favorite breakfast. ) It's the little stuff that they love. ;)

Having a new picture of yourself taken, is always a good gift for mom. A spa day with your mom is also a great idea, not only do you both get pampered, she gets you for the day too.

Write her a book

Also I think she would love it if you dedicate GG3 to her

If she likes to read, then a good book would be nice.
Another thing is... most moms want to keep memories of there kids, so try maybe a scrapbook or a collage of pictures. :) Anything meaningful. Hope this gives you ideas. <3

there's a chick flick coming out: Made Of Honor. Sounds pretty good. I'm going to try to get my mom to go see it.

P.S. what's the name of your new series? I need more books to read!

A lot of people don't have time to... well... spend time with their moms. Especially since you're so busy with GG3 and such. So you should at least get her something thoughtful, like sending her some of those books you tell us to read. They are amazing, by the way. Often moms and daughters have simmilar interests. I know my mom and I love to share books.

Well take her out to eat, sing her a song (even if you can't sing that good) she'll remember it for a long time maybe even forever, and just spend time with her, take her to get a mani or pedi, or both. She's your mom, she'll love anything you get her or do for her! Good luck!

A place in this new strip mall aout 20 minutes from my house is called Swoozies. You could see if they have one by YOU! or come visit me in Orland Park,Illinois. It has great Mother's Day Stuff. Also something I do with my friend is go on one of those online cross-word puzzle makers. I make clues that are inside-jokes or something my relative/friend should remember with laughs or tears of joy.

Good Luck with Momma & GG3.

I always get my mom a perennial because she's a green thumb. and the great thing about perennials is that they last for years, unlike annuals or a bouquet of flowers.

another route I'll go for her birthday, which is usually the same weekend or close to, is I'll get her something for the kitchen. my brother and I usually go together for that, and we got her a kitchen aid mixer one year and a high-end toaster another.

hope these ideas help spark a few of your own :-D

you should buy her a laptop or something electronic like that. Give her a card that promises you will teach her how to use it. This will ensure that she learns how to use it and you spend some mother daughter bonding time!!!!
Or why don't you make her a CD that has all of her favorite songs on it

take her somewhere. and spend time with her. i mean if you haven't seen your mom in a long time i think the best thing would to talk and spend time together. that would be what i would want if i was your mom. but if you see her everyday then go hang out as friends instead of mom and daughter and just talk and buy her something she really really wants.

Hilariously funny, too!

I think you should get your mother some pretty flowers. You should give her something she will really appreciate. Think of all the things you would want....Maybe something to help her so she can make her life easier. Like, let's say if she didn't have a dishwasher (which she probably does) then I'd tell you to get her one so she can spend the rest of her time on something else she'd rather do. Good Luck!

when my sisters and i can't think of anything else, we make my mom a huge card. You take two posterboards and string them together. then you write whatever on it... prolly something like "remember that time when..." or something like that, Make it come from the heart!!!

so i did this last year. Have a tea party. I know it sounds kind of corny, but seriously, my mom loved it. Make the cookies or buy them, have finger sandwhiches and fruit, and of course the tea.Dress up and tell her to do the same, just don't tell her it's a tea party when you invite her over. And afterwards do something fun together, like watching a movie.

make a video documentory type thing and interview people and have them say things about her that are great but only nice things and like if she has a sister or brother ask her sister or brother to tell a funny story like "i remember when. . ." somthing like that and then at the end of the video say what makeys her special to you and maybe have everyone included in the video wave and say "bye" or "the end" i don't know or "happy mothers day!"

Give her a manuscript of one of your books. Or write out a chapter or two (long hand, Miss I-Love-To-Type).

I did a secret family photo for my mom on Christmas. I gathered my broter and sisters, went to the mall and had picturs done. We gave them to her in a frame.

Ally-time is a big plus. She's your mom, she loves you, she probably want to see your fave more than you know.

If she doesn't take to many meds, take her to get a massage. Everyone loves massages.

Make a pie with her. Yeah, it's simple, yeah the pie may not taste that great or get burnt because your both distracted by the story of when she went to the circus, but you guys will have created something together. And that's a day you will both remember (plus it comes with pie)

Has she inspired you? Tell her. You can also get her a bunch of little things and say they're symbolic (i.e. a pen because she encouraged you to write, a cookie sheet because remember that time you made cookies together? The first book you remember her reading to you, a clay handprint to go with the one you made in kindergarden.) Tie your life into your gift, because with out her, where would you be?

Put her name in your book. Even if it's some random person asking a character where the bathroom is.

But remember: if you do write something, write it out in pen. All though typing looks better, pen says that you thought of her long and hard.

Also: Get her to tell you stories. Growing up, you may not be that interested in Mom's life, but now that your older, you have the ability to apreciate what she's gone through.

Good luck, what ever you do your mom will love because it came from you, Ally Carter, and she loves you (even though you've deluted yourself into thinking your dating George Clooney).

Happy Mothers Day,
Jessica

P.S. Sorry this comment is so long!

Do something that she and you would love to do together. You could go out to her favourite restaurant or you could make her her favourite meal. Do something that no matter what happens (like if you burn the meal) she will know that it came from your heart.

I think someone else already said something like this...but if you and your mom look kinda similar, you could find an old-ish picture of her, and then take a picture of yourself in the same pose, hair the same, etc. Then you could just display it a cool way. I think she'd like that. =)

Two ideas, contigent on your location and your mom's:

1. If you live near your mom, two words: Scavenger Hunt! Hide clues and little gifts around your house, or town, or with her friends, then make the final place a cool restaurant or a picnic.

2. If you do not live near your mom, take some of the photos of you as a kid and make up a story using the photos as illustrations. Then your mom gets pics of you (I bet you were adorable!), and you get to do something you enjoy as well.

Hope this helps! =)

Write her a short, but not to short, story about how awesome she is and how much she means to you, with a collage of your life with her. If you do do it then make sure you put a lot of compliments in and how much you love her!!!
