Mini blog: Mother's Day part 2
HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY, everyone! Especially all those super amazing moms out there who read teen fiction WITH their daughters. You are certainly the coolest moms around. (And those of you who don't have teen daughters and read teen fiction anyway, you are a very, very close second!)
I had a good one.
Went to church with MY mom this morning, then she cooked my favorite lunch ever (pork roast, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans.)
I made blackberry cobbler. (From scratch. It was yummy but the crust to filling ratio was a little higher than I would have preferred.)
I bought my mother the greatest gift ever: STRETCHY PANTS!
And now I'm home.
Hope you had a good one,
Ally
ps...CONGRATULATIONS are in order for my old friend and frequent blog reader/commenter Amanda Renee who graduated from college with honors yesterday! Way to go, Amanda!
pps...where the heck does the apostrophe in Mother's Day go? Or is it Mothers' Day? I think technically it should be the latter, but that looks weird. Sigh. There's never a copyeditor around when you need one.

:) I hope you had a good time with your mom, it's sounded like fun. I think it would be mothers' day, even if it does look weird.
Are you talking about your mother or all mothers? If you're taking about your mother then it's Mother's Day. If you're talking about all mothers then it's Mothers' Day. The second one does look strange though.
I'm glad to hear you had fun with your mom. I spent the day doing endless chores for my mother's business because both my sister and I were home from college for the weekend. *Just in case you were wondering how some of your readers spent the day :)
I think it is mothers' day. I had fun with my mom we went to brunch and to the mall!!! For her gift I made her 8 cards.(I had no money) I hope your mom loved the pants!
i hope you had a good mothers day!! where do you get those stretchy pants??!!
Your mothers day was better than mine. My mother, grandmother, AND I got in a car crash and my sis got stiches. Not the best mothers day in the world is it?
Wow, that was a much better day than we had...
We went to a fancy restaraunt for Mothers' Day, which was great but then we went to visit both grandparents, who live very far away. Long car trips are only worthwhile if you're going to do something to better your life or visiting your family. They're still very boring all the same.
That sounds like a fun day w/ your mom, Ally. All we did at my house was go to a church play dedicated to mothers in the morning, then go out to eat afterward (she chose where), then come home, let her nap (for 3 and a half hours!!!), then give her some of her favorite ice cream, cards, and a present she'd been asking for. (A tea set... sometimes I think my mom is a Madame Dabney...)
Happy belated Mothers' Day! (Or Mother's Day, Or Mothers Day, or Mom Day, or WHATEVER you use...) ;)
If you are saying it to your mother, it would be HAPPY MOTHER'S (apostraphe before the "s") day. If you were saying it on your blog, it is HAPPY MOTHERS' (apostraphe at the end) day. :)
My mom's day wa good (I think...), but it was sad, too. My friend's mom died on Friday. :(
You know what? I think it's officially "Mother's Day," and I think that's how the greeting card industry and stuff would write the term. Although I do think that it SHOULD be "Mothers' Day." (I just had this debate with myself yesterday, actaully.)
ally, I know this has nothing to do with the things you wrote, but OMG I just checked the today's NY Times best seller list. Your's is in #4 of the best seller book list. Happy Mother's Day to all Mom's out there!!

Haha! Strechy pants!
I think that if you are referring to the day in general it's Mothers' Day. I don't think it looks funny, it's just grammer.
I am glad that you had fun wiht your mom.

HEhe, my word verification has fu in it.
Where can you buy these stretchy pants?
Thanks Ally!!!
I looked on my calander. It's spelled Mother's Day. I spent Mother's Day in a hotel room for like five hours, then went to a mall, then went to my not related to me by blood cousin's party, and ended with a three hour drive home. Let me tell you, five hours with your little sister is not exactly a picnic.

lov the gift-Elise
we had the same mothers day lunch that is so cool
but my mom makes it every mother's day.
