For all the writers...
Hey gang,
All of you writers out there should head over to Maureen Johnson's blog for her latest entry, Death to Muses.
Good, good stuff, gang.
I couldn't agree more--especially about the bread fairy.
A lot of times people who were raised like I was raised try to down-play the good things in their lives.
"I've been very blessed."
"Things have really worked out."
"I guess I was in the right place at the right time."
Etc. Etc.
What we don't come right out and say is, "I put my butt in my chair every day until the book was finished. And then I took a nap. And saw a movie. And then I put my butt in the chair every day until the book was GOOD."
Yeah, that's something we don't say.
But Maureen Johnson did. And I really, really hope you guys will go check it out.

Thanks for the link, Ally - and good job keeping your butt in the chair for Heist - that progress meter is going up and up!
LOL wow she sounds like a pretty cool author. I'm gonna have to check out some of her books. She also has very good points and options for Writers Block. Thanks for mentioning her Ally!=D

Thanks for the link. The post had a lot of great information. I could relate to what she said about questioning your talent and sanity. I've done that. I really like her writing style. Now, I'm going to check out her books.
I've got to read that...soon. Right after I write this comment. Also, today (the 6th) is my birthday!!!

Oh goodness Miss Ally Carter. You have been busy? I haven't commented on your blog since Part One of Writing Tips[101 of 101] as I sometimes like to call it.
Heist-Kat is coming along well and I'm proud to tell you I have found a subject I'm happy to write of. I took my own advice for you from my last comment and thought about taking a guys perspective on a subject I've wanted to do a book on for a long time. [Instead of a girls]
My problem is I have a little bit of trouble [after reading books] to take ideas and incorporate them into my stories because they are in my subconcious mind. This is very hard. Does this ever happen to you? Any advice?
Yup, I read it... real good stuff ;)
Oh, and I just coincidentally read 13 LITTLE BLUE ENVELOPES
REAL GOOD STUFF!
Anyways, excellent work on heist/kat/whatever it is!!!
i no wat u mean bout just sitting down and doing it. other wise, it neva rlly gets done. i cant wait 2 read ur new book!

I have not ever heard of her books before I might go to the library today and look for them.
