For all the writers...

Hey gang,

All of you writers out there should head over to Maureen Johnson's blog for her latest entry, Death to Muses.

Good, good stuff, gang.

I couldn't agree more--especially about the bread fairy.

A lot of times people who were raised like I was raised try to down-play the good things in their lives.

"I've been very blessed."
"Things have really worked out."
"I guess I was in the right place at the right time."

Etc. Etc.

What we don't come right out and say is, "I put my butt in my chair every day until the book was finished. And then I took a nap. And saw a movie. And then I put my butt in the chair every day until the book was GOOD."

Yeah, that's something we don't say.

But Maureen Johnson did. And I really, really hope you guys will go check it out.

Thanks for the link. The post had a lot of great information. I could relate to what she said about questioning your talent and sanity. I've done that. I really like her writing style. Now, I'm going to check out her books.

Oh goodness Miss Ally Carter. You have been busy? I haven't commented on your blog since Part One of Writing Tips[101 of 101] as I sometimes like to call it.

Heist-Kat is coming along well and I'm proud to tell you I have found a subject I'm happy to write of. I took my own advice for you from my last comment and thought about taking a guys perspective on a subject I've wanted to do a book on for a long time. [Instead of a girls]

My problem is I have a little bit of trouble [after reading books] to take ideas and incorporate them into my stories because they are in my subconcious mind. This is very hard. Does this ever happen to you? Any advice?
