Completely random observations from the Olympics
1. It's waaaaay too late for me to go for the gold in anything gymnastics related.
2. If Michael Phelps's swim trunks get any lower, the Olympics might end up rated NC-17

3. Seriously. Am I the only person who is constantly afraid that Michael Phelps is going to dive into the pool and lose his pants!?!?!
4. Whoever made those Visa commercials narrated by Morgan Freeman totally had me in mind as their target audience.
5. Have I mentioned that the Olympics MAKE ME CRY?
6. And the little Chinese boy from the opening ceremonies who survived the earthquake and then went back to his school to pull his classmates from the rubble and told people after that he wasn't a hero--he was a class leader and he was just doing his job?
7. HOW CAN THE OLYMPICS DO ANYTHING BUT MAKE ME CRY?
8. And perhaps my favorite Olympics moment wasn't even from the actual Olympics. Did anyone else see Project Runway last week when the challenge was to design an outfit for the opening ceremonies and that one guy made a purple cocktail dress? I almost died when Michael Kors said, "What's her sport? Drinking?" And then later, "It's great if she's representing the United Republic of Cocktail Land?"
9. And speaking of the opening ceremonies... I thought the U.S. athletes looked great. A little like they were getting ready to go sailing off the Cape, but great just the same.
10. And not only that, but their pants stayed on. (But Michael Phelps wasn't there, so it wasn't a true test of pantage.)

Ally, don't worry about his pants. They are so super tight that I am surprised his legs function properly. ;-) I am a swimmer, and the girls suits are super tight!

Oh gosh. Those pants are alarming.
Watching gymnastics ALWAYS makes me wish I'd stuck with it...since, you know, I was totally Olympics-bound. ;)
Don't worry about Michael Phelps' swimsuit. I saw a piece on the suits during the Olympic trials and they're practically sewn into the suits. But it certainly does LOOK like it'll drop at the most inopportune moment. *g*
I didn't think any one else recognized the Morgan Freeman commercials!!! His voice gives me the chills. I love the Michael Phelps one.
The Olympics makes me cry, sometimes out of laughter. Like after Jason Lezcek won the relay for the US and kept Phelps dream of most Olympic Gold Medals in one Olympic Games, i cried. Then I laughed when they showed the rest of the teams reaction. Phelps = ahmazing!
His nose is really big though. =]We had a discussion about that Saturday. If I ever meet Michael Phelps I'll be sure to discuss the level of his pants.
That little boy, when Yao Ming was holding him was just so darn adorable. It almost makes up for the shootings and stabbings that happened. =[ That was sad.
i love michael phelps! he rocks...though his pants ARE low...but i'm sure they'll stay on, judging by how tight all the swimsuits need to be in order to help streamline the swimmer. haha

i was a gymnast before, too cuileann! I think i was olympic bound, too, haha. I might start up again I'm starting to miss it a lot, too!
On the Michael Phelps issue, at least he makes it work, it's not like he looks bad in them.
my mom said this about michael phelps' trunks, "wow those are really low.. they r going to fall down, but good thing they're spandex..." then my brother said that my mom said the exact same thing when he was in athens... lol...

The entire Olympic ceremony was cool. And, what that little boy said...I can see why it made you cry. Plus, that's a very good point about Michael Phelps. And, I love Project Runway! :)
omg, i love the comercials with morgan freeman's voice on them. I don't especially like the comercials, and i don't know who Morgan freeman actually is..... but i LOVE his voice!!!!
Three things about the opening ceremony that were very, VERY emotional. For me.
That little boy. Oh my gosh! He is what everyone in the world should be like: innocent, caring, brave. Gah! He is so perfect!
That little girl who sang in the opening ceremony. You know, the cute one in the little red dress, that everyone went "awww". Well guess what? She lip-sang (spell check?). The Chinese said "It was the perfect performer for the perfect voice." Apparantly the little girl whom actually sang it, needed braces. This made me *mad*.
The last act with all the little children in the center, and the Tai Chi professionals around them. I think little children are the main reason for tears in the olympics, Ally...
Oh. And speaking of Phelps. Has anyone heard the new arguement on the Speedo suits? You know, the american flag ones that are one peices to your knees? Well, people are arguing that the USA has an increased chance at winning because of them. This is getting ridiculous.
Okay, I promise last thought.
How in the world does the gymnastics scoring work? A seventeen is perfect? Whatever happened to the nice, even, perfect Mr. Monk TEN??????

The Olympics make me happy cuz of all our countries working around each other and having fun. It still makes me cry too and that comercial. And Micheal Phelps...well his pants are very low. Makes me want to just pull them down whoop!

I have never thought of Michael Phelp's pants in that way. That commercial was so sweet, but I didn't know if it was true or not so I didn't cry.

But Yes! Micheal Phelp's swim trunks are scaring me. it would be funny if they fell off but, not really. His gravity pants are amazing me.
PROJECT RUNWAY ROX! I thought the cocktail dress was really funny! I laughed so hard. funny purple dress.
We watched the olympics at my cast party... we were crying too! only cuz of all the random jokes my friend made. Dont worry not olympic related!
YOU NEED TO READ BRAKING DAWN AND BLOGABOUT WAT YOU THINK! I kno u dont have a lot of time but it's the best in the series... in my mind a least.

That commercial is very cool. Also I never really noticed Micheal Phelps' trunks, but now that you point it out...and also that boy with Yao Ming was possible the cutest and bravest thing I have seen in a really long time. I get a lot of pride watching the Olympics. Watching Greece come in first gets my mom every time. It's a big part of my culture, history, backgroung, you name it, it's part of me. It's the only time when everyone will stop all the fighting and the wars and attacks on other places to come together for two weeks for competetive sports. No other event will ever be able to claim to have the power to do that, you know, bring world peace, even if it is just for a little while.
I think that's why you cry so much at the Olympics, Ally. It's the peace and the pride.

I'm on swim team, and I have to say, no, they don't fall off (not for guys or girls) (sadly. or thankfully, depending on how you see it).
Because they're spandex/lycra! And if they're tight when they're dry, trust me, the swimsuits stick to your skin like...a second skin...when they're wet! you have to actually pull ihe material away from your body so you don't asphyxiate!
Yeah I was actually wandering if Michael Phelps' swimsuit was going to come off but I wouldn't mind if it did lol.=D And I love the little boy. I cried when I seen it!=(

haha. don't worry, ally. i guarantee you that there is almost no way michael phelp's suit will fall down! i'm a swimmer as well and i know how hard and long it takes to get a swim suit like that on, and it's almost just as hard to get it off!

The cocktail dress needs to be out soon. He is annoying. How much did people love when that girl laughed at him on the runway?
Also, would people really be all that disappointed if Michael Phelps' trunks did come off? They need a new word to describe how HOT he is...
I know who Morgan Freeman. I lke his movies. and if Michael Phlps pants are sooooooo gravity defying people should were them casually and people could fly..... i kid. The closing ceremony I loved ! It was kind of cool when jackie chan was singing
