And speaking of lists...

Remember how a few days ago I blogged about the power of state reading lists? Well, a commenter in the last post mentioned that LYKY has been named to the Rosewater reading list.

Fast forward to ten minutes of frantic Googling...

YES! The Rosewater is the state reading list (I think) for Indiana!

Go Hoosier Gallagher Girls! Go Liz (my friend from my summer in D.C.) and Travis (my friend from that job I had in college!) Go Purdue (the school where I almost did my graduate work). Go John Green (who lives there now). And go Laura (my friend from grad school).

And go all the other people from Indiana whom I do not know.

But that got me to thinking that a lot of lists might come with the superpower of invisibility. After all, LYKY has been on the Rosewater list for at least a month so far as I can tell (maybe longer) and this was the first I've heard of it.

So...I've got a favor.

If either of the Gallagher Girl books is on a reading list in your state, could you please leave it in comments?

So far I know about Georgia, Texas, and I've heard rumors about Rhode Island. (But don't worry, Rhode Island, the rumors were VERY flattering.)

Later gators,
Ally

What is a state reading list? Does this mean it is a required summer reading book? Here in Massachusetts I am not sure how to find out what is on the state reading list... hehe! Yay! I am glad gg2 is doing so well! I thought it was really awesome!

i dunno if it is on my list (kansas), but i hope it isn't, 'cause even tho that would be good 4 u ally, i don[t like it when i have to say that i read it and i am all excited and evry1 else is all like "whatevr, don't be such a freak'. but i have to make that point 'cause i love the series. (by the way, still rereading the second book, when i read it, even tho i read ur blog at least every other day, i still can't help my brain falling into a state of mind where i'm not listening to U, but instead to Cammie. u r amazing ally. i wish i had as much talent as u, or my story that i'm working on wouldn't be so boring.)

When I said couple of days ago about the rosewater nomination I was talking about from Indiana. I didn't know that they hadn’t told you-sorry-I thought you knew all that kind of stuff. Well, to tell you the truth I am surprised you didn’t know. They should really tell you that stuff. Well congrats on making the list for Indiana! At Columbus North High School (the school I go to) every year they hold a rosewater nominee reading…well I don't know what you would really call it...a contest? Well, anyway that is who I found out about your book.
PS the librarian gives prizes for the person with the most books read in a certain timeframe.

I'm not sure if it's on our (Florida) reading list. But i do know that it is displayed in the Inidan Trails Middle School library. And i've seen quite a few people reading gg1 for the first time and saying they thought it was interesting.

Congrats though!!
