Mini Blog: the card books
Lately the weirdest thing has been happening: people have been asking me if/when I'll write a third book in my series for older readers.
The first book was CHEATING AT SOLITAIRE. The second was LEARNING TO PLAY GIN. And collectively they sold roughly two dozen copies.
Personally, I thought the books were a lot of fun, and I really do love those characters, but the numbers are just...bad. And that's the most important thing when it comes to these decisions, I'm afraid.
So while I'm very honored that people have started reading those books lately, and I'm always flattered when people ask for more, I'm afraid it probably isn't in the cards (hehe--cards...get it?) to see a book 3.
Thanks!
Ally

While I am sad that there won't be any more card books, Learning to Play Gin ended at a good place. There were no major cliffhangers to leave us wondering what would happen to Julia and Lance.
i couldnt find those books at my local barnes amd noble... anyone have any idea where i might?
That's okay, Ally. As long as you continue to write the Gallagher Girls books, everything will be great.

You can find the card books on www.amazon.com
funny ally! can't wait till gg3
awww... that's too bad. Maybe if you had the chance to leave it on the market just a bit longer, people would've gotten to know you better, and loved it! Well, anyways, I am comfortably waiting here for GG3. It better come out soon, or I'll get tired of waiting and move on to other teenage girl spy books! (which there are others, trust me.) hehe. just kidding. I will aways hold on to Cammie and the gang. :)
awwwww well thats ok i guess... but just PLEASE dont stop writting Gallagher Girl book.
Just keep writing Ally, you make us happy no matter what you write! (Including blogs...) ☺
I just started being A Gallagher Girlfan in July so I did not read that series.
Wow! If they only sold 2 dozen copies I must know ALL those people!! :-p Just so you know, you have a large following here in Southeast KS!! ;-)
I LOVE THEM!!
Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about those!! They were on my TO READ LIST and I haven't gotten around to reading them. I am so sorry, Ally!! I will read them, I promise. As soon as I can get the money to go get them. But I'm actually glad that I haven't read them yet because now I have something to read until GG3! YAY!! I really am sorry, though. I can't believe I forgot about them! GRRR! Anyways, have a great day and enjoy your writing!! You're making great progress!=D
I read them and shared them with my bff. she liked the second one more than I. I never used to read series, and a part of me still holds onto that. I always enjoy books one at a time more than trying to read through 50 to get the story.
keep writing :)
I loved those books, but learning to play gin ended well. Only two dozen? My library has it......so i was assuming that other libraries would have it also.
Well, I am really glad that even though "the cards books" didn't end up working out too well, that you didn't give up in being an writer. That would have been tragic. Why? Because, you are such an amazing author! :)
I have the first Card book and plan to get the second. I got mine at Books-a-Million. It's on Amazon as someone else stated. You canorder the second one from just about any bookstore. I think you can They had to sell more than two dozen copies.
Maybe you could write short stories about the characters and put it on the blog if not for publication.
Roughly 2 dozen? That has to be an exaggeration. Are you serious?
Yeah, I understand. I haven't ever read any of your other books, but maybe i will some day.
