Blog in bullets
There are SO MANY things on my mind, blog-wise, today that I'm just going to blog a little bit about them all.
1. thanks SO MUCH to all of you who have tackled the crossword puzzle. And big congratulations to those of you who have completed it. Awesome job.
2. I hope those of you who have discovered the title have liked the title. I must say, I think it fits the book really, really well.
3. I sent out a quick newsletter last night, so if you think you're signed up to receive newsletters--but you didn't get it--you might want to check your SPAM folder and/or re-sign up via my website and make sure you go through the "opt in" process.
4. I'm not going to talk about politics on the blog. I want to. But I'm not going to. Because I get too freaking wound up so I'm not even going to go there. (And I'm not approving political comments either, I'm afraid, because I really don't want this to turn into a battleground.)
6. Fall might be my favorite season.
7. I spent a good part of yesterday wishing that Tim Gunn would come clean out my closet and then take me shopping.
8. I'm super jealous of all the NY area YA writers who are all going to see NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST this afternoon together.
9. I'm going to try like crazy to see NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST sometime this weekend even though it won't be with my writer friends.
10. Have I mentioned lately that I really enjoyed the book NICK AND NORAH'S INFINITE PLAYLIST and I'm extremely excited about the movie?
11. Since when did "elite" become an insult? Or a bad thing? Or something that should be looked down upon?
Last I checked, elite was defined as "the choice or best of anything." But it seems today like it's the go-to insult when bashing someone for being "uppity" or "snobby". But uppity and snobby are not synonyms for elite. Not at all.
So for all of you teens and pre-teens who are reading this, I hope you'll know that being smart is not bad. Being accomplished is not bad. Being competent or experienced or knowledgeable or eloquent is not bad.
I hope that you will all go ahead and be the best at whatever it is you want to do and be--an elite teacher or chef or scientist or race car driver or farmer or parent or journalist.
The world needs more people who are "elite" and not fewer if you ask me.

Oh the crossword is so hard! Will you ever post the answer on your blog? Oh well. I can't wait untill GG3! And the movie! :]
But, oh yes. poltical comments would be bad - I want to talk about them too! But political debates are just to dang hard to end.
Fall is probably the best season :]
And I SO WANT TO SEE THAT MOVIE TOO :] Looks great.
Keep up the great writing/blog topics Ally!

Yeah, politics really gets me going. So it's best not to even go down that road lol. Fall is my favorite season, partly because my b-day is Oct. 21 (in the Fall) and I just love the weather and the surroundings; like the leaves changing colors and fall festivals...
I'm still working on the crossword. It is soooo hard!! I haven't really had time to work on it, so I'm trying to do it over the weekend. I haven't even heard of most of the things on there lol.
And I really want to see that movie too!!=D
I totally know what you mean. People say elite all the time at my school and no one know's what it means! I finally figured out the crossward (Though my moms boyfriend did most of it) *Be ashamed for not doing the puzzle by my self* I agree fall is the best season but thats probably because my b-day is in fall (Although I live in washington so it's really rainy during fall) Oh and I agree with the political thing, I was trying to write some of my book but there were like four people in my living room screaming at the T.V because they were watching the dabate! Oh and I was wondering if I could breafly use your name in my book? Tell me yes or no my E-mail is ride-the-wind13@hotmail.com
Love ya

I am so excited for nick and norah's infinite playlist. I want to see it so bad. It looks hilarious!!
elite does = awesome. i really enjoy fall. and i absolutely LOVE the title of the third book! it took me a while to finish the crossword but i was really excited when i did! love it!
~bex (that really is my name!)
I love the title! I'm so excited about the next Gallagher book. I hate talking about politics. There are certain things that cannot be discussed at dinner: politics, religion, and the NASCAR points system (I'm not a fan). I don't really want to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, though my sister does. Some parts look funny, but they probably put the best parts in the preview. It would be really awesome if everyone who read this would visit www.dmtshirtdesign.com/view/ShieldOfRock and vote for my shirt! :D
OMG I <3 the Title bu ti was on the computer for like % hours on the online thesaurus and on Google!!!!!!
I love all of your books and I cant wait for the next one!
-Becky♥
I love fall too Ally! You are one of many who have suggested reading Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist and seeing the movie(I didn't know it was a book first), and I think the movie looks great.
Yes. I know that it's good to be smart. I have heard it a million times. But I am also psyched to see NICK AND NORAH'S INFINATE PLAYLIST. I (hopefully) seeing it sunday.
OMG!!! I LOVE YOUR NEW TITLE IT IS SOOOO AWESOME!!! THat being said I'm 100% with you on the whole being elite thing but where did that come from?
--Kari--
OMG the Cross my heart paperback comes out on my bday!!!!!!!!!!
Yay! I finally finished the crossword! (Which was EVIL by the way, especialy since I suck at them)Interesting title. It has me wondering about what the book is about.
oHey Ally!!! I just finished the crossword...it took me a while...(haha). It was hard, but I did it!!! I absolutely LOVE the title. Can't wait till the book comes out.!! :)

i haven't figured out the title yet ally, its printing as we speak, i mean, as i type but the elite thing ur talking about... u should sooo tell that to the kids in my class me and my friends are smart, NOT GENIUSES just b/c were in the advanced levels for 2 classes and get more As than any other letter on our report card (b/c there are other letters on it) they think were geniuses. some kid it always calling me a Brain and he says it like if im just some walking talking gooball. no hands, feet, face, nothing. im just a BRAIN yeah right hes just a PAIN so thank u ally for agreeing with me on the smart ppl r not bad
Hey Ally,
I adored the title! I can't wait to read it! I got yelled at several times in class for working on it. :-) elite is a good thing in my opinon. :-) I feel smiley today!

political debates? Oh my gosh! you should her my social studies class! AND WE R ONLY IN MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! And I figured out the title too! it is awesome! I cant wait for June 9th!!! I will probably by it then, and then give it to my sis for her b-day a little later in the month. I feel like I am rambling now so... bye!
I can't wait to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist either. The book was great, I hope the movie is too.
By the way, I worked it out! I worked out the title GG3! I haven't completely finished the crossword, but thanks to my mother(who, to be honest, did most of the crossword while I watched and occasionally filled in a word or two), I was able to work out the title!
I can't wait 'til June 9th now.
I tried to do the crossword, I really did. I found it really hard, but I was proud that I got a few by using "school knowledge." I guess I'll just have to wait. :)
I have to wait for the book, so I might as well wait for the title.
That movie looks so great, I love the actors/actresses they picked, too! It makes me really want to go read the book.
However, seeing the movie and reading the book both require free time, of which I do not have.
ally when r u gonna put the title on ur books page?
LOVE the title Ally... I can just imagine in my head what it must mean! thank god my mom does the newspaper crossword every day! it was hard but fun!
<3-Anna

i read the books last year and i LOVED THEM but i can't remember ANYTHING!!!!!!! when o when will you post the answers!!!!???? btw ITS OK 2 B SMART PEOPLE!!! I'M WAY SMART!!! (i don't mean 2 brag so sorry if i sound like it)
the cross word is really hard are you ever going to post the title?
omg i can't figure it out! the clues don't make any sense!
That's a great title,Ally!
Although I have to say "Boys Don't Make Passes..." was a pretty good one as well.
No political comments here.
I like Spring. But they are my favies.
I want to see it too! But I saw Eagle Eye last night and am now completely broke so no Nick & norah's for me.
I utterly and COMPLETELY loved that book. It's one of my favorites.
Elite = amazing.
Elite 8, League of Elite People.
Okay well the second one's a run-off of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but the first one's legit!
Keep it up Alls!
They shouldn't judge elite people. Especially if they have rich covers...
you make good points Ally. by the way, did you see the previews for City of Ember? For Christmas my mom got me all three books in the series (City of Ember, People of Sparks, and THe Prophet of something who's name I forgot) and they were surprisingly good. I seriously think that the future will be like that if we don't do something now. But I never thought they would make it into a movie! I totally didn't see that coming! Still need to figure out the title, I'm going to go do that now. Bye!;)(P.S my birthday party starts tonight!)
I love the title Ally! I was sooooo excited to get the crossword and started dancing like crazy when I figured out the title!
We don't have fall where I live. We just have summer and winter.
I want to read the book before I see the movie.
I reallllllllllllly love that title! It's AMAZING!

I figured out the title. And, what I want to know, is how do you think of these titles? THey are so simple, yet creative at the same time. Great idea doing the crossword. Yes, it was hard, but it totally gave me something to do.:)

WELL SAID! P.S. My friends from school who didn't even know about the book were helping figure out the crossword! I am bringing it in again to see if they can help me finish. My friend Andy is awesome at it. We were working on it during band! :)
I saw that movie yesterday!! It was really good!! I had read the book a few months ago and it was great, and when i found out it was going to be a movie I was so excited! YAY!
I think the title will fit very well! I did like less than half of the puzzle and once i found out the title i stopped..haha. I can't wait for - - - - - - - (I wont say the title cuz i dont want to ruin it for everyone else!)!
Oh my goodness. My friends and I went to go see Nick and Norah's infinite playlist but the times had gotten changed. We went to see Eagle Eye instead and it was soooo good.
-Devin
I've figured out the title and I love it! It's majorly cute and it's getting me excited for the book...even though it doesn't come out until next summer. But I plan to get CMH in paperbook and then I can read the first chapter or so!!!
I was thinking about going to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, but now that you tell me it's also a book, I might have to go read it first. So thanks! And 'elite' has always been a good word to me - like elite athletes. They're amazing. =)
Hi, Ally! I tried the crossword, it was soooooooo hard!!! (but then again, I'm bad at puzzles) I love all the titles and I've marked the 7-9-09 on my calender! Can't wait for GG3!
When is the movie comming out?
I've officially convinced my friend to read the books. My school had this day where we were supposed to dress up as book characters, and I dressed up as Cammie!
I read your blog at 2 am. Now I'm tired. Oh well.
