Hey Gang,
It's Frequently Asked Question time again, so let's get right to it, shall we?
HOW MANY GALLAGHER GIRL BOOKS WILL THERE BE?
I'm not 100% positive, but right now my gut is that there will be six total--one each semester for Cammie's sophomore, junior, and senior years.
WHAT CHARACTERS WILL RETURN IN FUTURE GG BOOKS?
No comment.
WHY ARE YOU WORKING ON A NEW BOOK? SHOULDN'T YOU BE WORKING ON GG3 SO THAT IT CAN COME OUT FASTER?
Actually, GG3 is essentially finished. Publishing just takes a long time, I'm afraid, so even though it seems like I should be rushing to finish GG3 right now, I'm actually rushing to finish the new book which will come out over a year from now.
I WANT TO BE A WRITER. CAN I SEND YOU MY BOOK/STORIES?
Congratulations on knowing what you want to be! That's awesome! Unfortunately, I'm not really a very good critique partner. Instead, I'd recommend that you join a local writers' group and network with people closer to you. And, of course, the best thing you can do is just keep writing! You really don't need me for that.
WHO IS THE GIRL ON THE COVER OF THE BOOKS?
My wonderful publisher, Hyperion Books for Children, makes all the decisions about the book covers, and they've hired the cover models (yes, plural, the original model wasn't available for book 2) and I'm afraid I don't know their names.
WHY ARE YOU AFRAID WE WON'T LIKE GG3--WE'RE GOING TO LOVE GG3!?!?
See--that's exactly what worries me. The more people convince themselves that they're going to LOVE something the easier it is for them to be disappointed.

Hmmm.... Well if it makes you feel better, I'm not thinking much about my expectations for GG3. I really enjoyed the first book and am looking forward with great pleasure to savoring the other two. However I KNOW how long the publishing process can take, so I haven't really worked myself up for gg3.
What makes me happy is that you, a writer I enjoy, write, and write consistently and make more books. I would probably only be disappointed if you stopped.
(And I really love the covers!)
Really?? I thought the girl on book 2 looked exactly the same as the girl on the first one. Well you learn something new every day.

I know this is weird but I had this idea that Gallagher should do an exchange with Blackthorne, where the girls go to the boy's school, it would be a major twist, plus you could put zach back in (who by the way is hotter than josh). just an idea that i hope you like!!!
i love frequently asked questions time. so fun! good questions too...wait...so does that mean GG4 has already been started? or were you talking about Kat/Heist? 0.o

Two things. first- your books will NEVER, NEVER be a disapointment! :) and 2) on the whole writer group thingamabob, i have friends who are triplets and love to write as well. We made our own writers group, and then my other friends from school and i are doing the same thing. :P
About that last one, very true. That's why I've decided to lower my expectations by 1,000,000 degrees so that I can fully appreciate it. But I think we'll like it whether or not we have low expectations. Don't. Worry.
I know I'm gonna like the book:P. But if Zach doesn't return, I will surely cry:P:P Btw, have you ever seen the models for the cover? Cause I know this is weird but Ive been wondering what her face looks like XD.

I also couldn't tell the cover girls were different. Also, I love the jacket the girl wears on the cover of book two. Me and my friends all have one just like it, we are so just like the GGs. Sometimes when our town has carnivals we sneak around being pavement artists. lol.

You really do need to worry less about whether people like GG3 or not. Its inevitable - we *are* going like it, love it, drench your blog in comments that make no sense starting and ending with "OMG!!!!!" when we get a copy of it.

Wait so what are you writing now GG4 or Kat/Heist?
You know, Ally, people don't expect GG3 to be perfect. We just want you to keep writing in your usual style. If you HAVE to worry, then the thing you shuld be worrying about is whether people would like the idea of the book. You're naturally funny and interesting, so don't worry about that.
I think that the longer it takes for a book to come out, the more worked up the audience gets. Readers just have more time to wonder what the next novel would be about. I guess it's one of me favorite parts about reading.

omgosh, im so excited that there's going to be 6 books!!!!!
OMG! I totally was just thinking to myself that the first model looked a little bit different than the second one...(a little around the mouth, like the lips were plusher on the 2'nd than the 1'st.
Also, its apparent that everyone loves Zach and thinks he's hot even though they haven't seen him and to tell the truth , that's awesome Ally! You're THE BEST spy author in the history of the world!
Like Miriam, I also know how long publishing takes. :) So I've got a teetering stack of books that I'm going to kick back with while I patiently wait for GG3. :)
I recently finished GG2, and enjoyed it even more than the first one. You've written some really fun books, so thanks for sharing them with the rest of us. :)

What is so difficult about publising that makes it take MONTHS to be completed? *Sigh* I know GG3 will be well worth it, though! Especially if Zach comes back in. Ha. I think it is so hilarious how everyone thinks he's hot! I mean, I do too, but he lives off in another world... we technically haven't really seen him or anything. Ha. Look at me talking about a character in a book like a real person! Anyways, gotta go. Should be doing homework right now. Bye!
Oh, and you know... I loved your spy books SO much, that I got hooked with spies and read 6 other spy books from other series!!! Another one is supposed to come out soon, so I am wicked excited! (Up in New England, here, wicked is like another word for "really" in case you didn't know.)

I really want Zach to come back! He seems so real when he's with Cammie and she can only be herself with him. I didn't ever really like Josh. Even in the 1st book though it was kinda funny when he got really jealous in the 2nd one.

i just want to say that i think the books get better and better so i think all the books will be great (i hope you write 6!) i think you should hav the gallagher girls (cam,liz, bex, and macey) should infiltrate the boys school but since your the writer its up to you (besides you could come up with a way better storyline than me so just do what you think is best!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG i am Zach's biggest fan. All i really have to say is that ZACH IS AWSOME! thats all.
I like Zach the most. You REALLY wont want to see me if Zach isn't in the third book. I'll be a tad bit upset- just a tad (if throwing pillows and Nintendo DS's at people and swearing is a tad)
