Miniblog: The GG4 title reveal!
No, I'm not revealing it here today. Sorry if the subject line fooled you. But I have begun talking with my fab publisher, Disney-Hyperion, about our title revealing options.
As long-time blog readers will remember, CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO SPY was revealed first as a code that you guys had to break to learn the actual title.
DON'T JUDGE A GIRL BY HER COVER was revealed via a crossword puzzle.
So now it's time to reveal GG4 and I'd really like to do it in a way that lives up to its predecessors, is fun, is at least semi-spyish, and helps all of you out there start getting excited for the new book.
So what do you think, guys? Anyone have any good title reveal ideas?
Thanks!
Ally

I do I do!! Make a cryptogram! The're spyish and require solving. And, it's something u haven't tried. BTW, I f u get this early in the day, it's cuz im sick at home with the chicken pops. It's not that I skipped school or anything. But, Ally, at first the title did get me excited. I was pretty much on the floor rolling around saying, OMG it's here, I'm actually gonna get to see the title!! But I'll hav to patiently wait. Not like that's possible or anything, but......
maybe a word find???????
Maybe one of those word searches in the NY Post. You have to find a bunch of words and circle the letters individually. The letters left over spelled a word.
XP U got me so excited! Especially since I'm home sick, I thought today would look up w/ the title! But I'm still so excited for it!
Anyway, I'm watching the Yankee parade and eating a clementine :D
Grr! The title fooled me when I first saw it!
Have you ever seen the movie 'National Treasure'?? You could do something like that, that has to do with a bunch of spy-ish historic monuments. Of course, we wouldn't actually travel to find the clues, but it could be something like, "The second letter of the title of --" and then give a hint as to what the item might be.
It's an idea!
Gosh I thought for sure you were going to anounce the title...I was fixin' to break out into a dance...and then I was like she totally did not just do that!lol
-K
Oh! My heart stopped when I saw the post's title. I suggest a quiz about how well you know the books or how well you know spy-related things, and then from the answers you can figure out the title. In other words, if the answers were:
1. Compass
2. Alligator
3. Tree,
then the title would be Cat. (Somehow, though, I'm guessing it won't be Cat. I so do wonder why!)
You could have each word of the title in a different language to translate.
You should scramble all the letters of the title, and we should try to figure it out!
you could scramble a bunch of words and than take the circled letters and unscramble that to get the title. do you know what i'm talking about? its in all the major newspapers. goooosh i got so excited cuz i thought it was the title! it's coming soon tho :)
you could do a double paged word search, so that people have to find characters names on one side, and when they turn it over and there's another word search where the title is opposite the names
How about an anagram buster. I remeber it in a Nancy Drew PC game, Danger on Deception Island. It was a bunch of letters and the anagram buster in Nancy's laptop would spell out the words.
Something like that, perhaps.
you could give us a letter everyday, but not n the exact order. hows that?
Maybe like National Treasure, when they look at the letters from Silence Dogood to find out that it's the Liberty bell. You could write an Ottendorf Cipher using some of the pages from the previous GG books.
I'd love if you did another crossword. I had a lot of fun with that one.
I can't wait to find out the title and, even more so, to read the book.
wow, that title had me sreaming! then i read the blog...hmmm...ideas.....definitely codes....maybe a riddle....goodness this is difficult!
internet scavenger hunt...u know like find the different words to the title on different web pages, just brainstorming here
Umm we could do a word search, and then the letters that are left over could make random words that start with the letter A to the letter Z or to wherever you get to and then the second letter of each word could be the one of the letters from the title? Like it would be....
Actor
Boy
Coconut
Slide
so the word would be COOL
that's a little confusing i know and complicated but an idea non the less :D can't wait for GG4!
ally the title of your blog was NOT funny, i repeat, NOT funny. but i do like the cryptogram idea that anonymous wrote. that would be so much fun! please pick something soon, i cant wait for more GG!
ps. do you have any idea when it'll be coming out? if you say fall of 2010, i would be fine with that, well, not really cuz that's too far away, but i would have something to look forward to then besides christmas, and my birthday, and the last day of school, and thanksgiving...you get the point, but now i'm hungry for turkey, so yeah...please pick something soon!!
~sarah
I can't wait to figure out the title! I don't care which way you decide to reveal it- I just want to know the title- and maybe a mini exert.
i was thinking MAYBE have the letters mixed up P.S i luv ur books someday i wish 2 b miss goode but that wont happen 'cause zach is cammie's man *cry cry*
Grrrr!!! You had me so freaked out with the title!!!
Um, i suggest a cryptogram or making each word a different language that we have to translate into english. (I especially like the translation idea.)
you could have a quiz about the gg books. each question could reveal a letter.they could be in order because unscrambling them would b to hard lol. ps your title was NOT FUNNY!!!!!
You could do a scavenger hunt on your blog! Give us some clues and leave us letters of pictures of things that sound like letters and let us guess! Then you could let us leave some comments on what we think it is! But a few days after that, you could tell us the real title. I got so happy at the title of this post, but then I almost died when you said you wouldn't tell us! LOL! But whatever you do for the title thing I'm sure it will be fun, a little difficult, and very spy-ish!
Your BIGGEST fan,
Wynne from Wynne's Web
yeah the title did fool me and i almost fell out of my chair but you could do something like a scavenger hunt and ask people to find things on your website, or you could make people take a quiz on all the books and the prize would be the title
What about a scavenger hunt around your website or your books where you give us clues and we have to like go to the sixth word and second letter then we can unscamble all the letters to find the title.
My friends and I recently made what we like to call a cross-word-search. It's like a word search but, instead of giving the person the words to find, they are in clue form, like in a crossword. We had a lot of fun making it so hopefully that gave you some ideas! Can't wait for the title reveal!
*Marina*
Hey Ally! I love your books! :D
You should hide the title in a word search and the words are things the have to do with the books and then when you've found all the words the letters that aren't selected spell out the title (while read left to right starting with the top row)
I like the idea of an Ottendorf Cipher from the national treasure movie. This is like the third time national treasure is mentioned.
Oh! You know how poeople are always like 'What actor do want as cammie in the movie?' and such. Well who would you want to direct/produce the movie. Okay the producer thing is a bit much but whatever.
i just wanna say tht i am excited tht u will reveal the title soon n i like the cyriptogram idea
You could put hints on dif websites then we can try to peice them together, and we'll c who gets it first, like clues.
Do something hard, like, mention it in you're blog somewhere and tell you're fellow readers that it's in one of you're blogs or in just one of them. Like make it go all down the first letter of a paragraph and see how long it takes us to work it out!
Lei:)
A scavenger hunt that leads us to other author sites (or any site really) to get clues or key words would be fun.
A key cipher maybe? You can see how to make and break these ciphers on the NSA's kid site under "Make a Cipher". By the way, I was NOT happy when I read the blog AFTER I got all worked up about the title of GG4 being announced. I can't wait to read it!
i really like bella's idea!
Hmmm okay this could be way if base but maybe you could do something like a scavenger hunt type of thing. Give us a list papers/websites ect and a certain line/word/letter ( example New York Times 11/4/09 parA graph 2 line 3 word 4 letter 1 ) very national treasury Ya' know? And maybe even only give us a few a day so you can keep us comin back
soory if it's bad
-Amanda
My idea might not be the greatest. but maybe you can do like a scavenger hunt on your blog. like for example.
In September (insert date here),2009. the most used letter is (__) which is the1st letter to title.
that might be alot of work on your part but i think it might be a hit! If i didnt explain enough, hopefully you got my idea.
I cant wait for KAT and GG4!
much love,
sydney mat........
grrr! The title fooled me! I saw it and went searching through the post withhold reading the first sentence, and now I'm bummed! :( anyway.. I think that you should use a cryptogram.
you could give us a set of spy realated words and we have to pick and choose between the letters that could be the title. LOVE your books!
An online scavenger hunt. It's a bit involved, but very fun.
you could give us a set of spy related words and we have to pick and choose between the letters and try to guess the title. LOVE your books!
How about via word scramble?
What about a scavenger hunt were you'd have to find different words or letters on the web site?
a word search. & then, you unscramble the remaining letters.it would be fun & also tricky! <3 I can't wait Ally!
i like the silence dogood letters idea. that would be awsome, i love the riddles they put in national treasure, you should look there
haha we learned encoding with matrixes today in Algebra 2. That would be funny, but i dont think everyone would get it. :) (wow, never thought that stuff would be useful)
what about a scavenger hunt?
ex: you give us a book #, a page #, a line #, a word #, (and the first letter of that word is the one we want to spell out the title).
or,
a riddle. one riddle for each word. like in harry potter 4, but more so that we can find each word.
also,
a word jumble. like they have/used to have in the chicago tribune. what you do is you take words, jumble them, and have us solve them. this is not the title, though. what you do is have some of the letters of the unscrambled end up in circles or bold boxes if done correctly. these letters make up the title.
ie: hdol = hOLd, with the L and O fitting into the first two circles, so that you have LO.
revy = Very, with the V next.
enevr = nEver, the E being the last letter in a circle.
now, you have the letters of LOVE.
scavenger hunt!!! oh and yeah something from the national treasure movies. u cld even find a short story and make sure it has clues in it
I like the idea from Maddie of a spy scavenger hunt!! Where we would have to find info on different websites or something to answer the questions....Whatever you do, don't just hand us the title! It's what we all want and it won't be any fun!! :) I can't wait
the title made me so excited! lol. :P
maybe you can have a word find type of thing and there would be a specific letter in each word that goes into the title.
Oh my goodness i thought u were actually gonna tell us!! Sorry i dont have any ideas, but does this mean its going to come out soon!!!??
You could make a code for example:
a=z, b=y, and so on.
I think that you should do one of those word puzzles where you gives clues about a work or letters in the work and then you have to guess.
an online scavenger hunt. go around online to find certain words on certain websites
hey ally
i heard you were looking for british sounding names, so how about: watkin, ashford, reynolds, shuttleworth, howard or briggs
also a riddle could work
i think its a good idea but plz dont have any printing to be ddone if u want to find out caz i cant do that and i bet many other ppl cant either.......and how do ppl find out they won the t-shirt contest or not do u put the wining design on diary thingy or what????or do u email the winner cvaz that would be a help(not saying i won or anything just saying if i did teehee)
U should do a quiz on the books
You said fab! <3 to infinity! It's my new word; it's simply fab! <3 Now I remember why you're one of my favorites!
Picture puzzle! The picture is well disguised, and week by week we see a little more of the picture(which is not the title but key words of the title). And we fab GG fanatics will be guessing away. It may be harder to come up with a creative way to reveal the title than for us to guess! That's right, consider yourself dueled! Good luck!
Stay fab!<3
What about a cyber treasure hunt, i.e. find the answer to this question get the first word of the title, etc.?
I seconded with Hoi polloi by having each letter of the title in a different language so that we all could translate it.
That would be a fun activity to do, to keep us occupied so we're not constantly trying to think about the 4th book in our spare time.
So yes a puzzle using different languages seem to be fun, and challenging. And I have no doubt that you(Ms. Carter) would have no trouble because after all you do know 12 different languages, right?
Maybe you can post a word search and the left over letters are the letters that make up the title! and OMG i seriously can't wait for the new book! I have been life a long time fan!
You could do one of those picture puzzles. You try to find the meaning of the picture like if you wrote cow with a bunch of holes in it, it would mean holy cow. Get it?
you can give us a long string of letters that, if unscrambled, make up 5-10 words from the GG series. all the letters that are left make up the GG4 title. they should be in order, though, so we don't have to unscarmble them.
Ally you should have like a riddle, each line of the riddle could reveal a word from the title...you could use luke real history and gallagher history for the riddles :) ps I believe someone already asked this and I think it's a great question...will cammie ever meet kat? In perhaps a heist that cammie must stop? Or this would be funny, if kay could make a cameo appearance in the gg books? :p
Love Olivia :)
Ps someone mentioned doing a scavengerhunt on the blog, that would be cool because you're always telling us that everything we need to know is in previous blog posts :) this would also encourage us to go look rather than ask you questions :) whoever said this idea I really like it
Love Olivia (again) :)
i saw the twitter post for british last names. try Aldaine, Rowle, Ramseden, Stratton, or Whiting. for more, check out
http://www.last-names.net/origincat.asp?origincat=British
ally I'm so sorry I keep writing but it's been so long :p I'd really like to know more about gallagher and the times of gilly...would you ever write a book that's kind of like "hogwarts: a history" but only it's about gallaghers history? Kind of like a handbook about gallagher with maps and codes etc. Like a journal of cammies that maps out everything there is to know about the school?
Love Olivia :p again...again
I was thinking that maybe you could create some sort of code from pages of the previous [three] GG books and we would have to decipher it(like in national treasure and the silence dogood letters). Or maybe you could create a quiz and the prize for passing it could be knowing the title. Anyway, I can't wait to find out the title:)
ALLEY here is an idea...(not a very good one but its an idea)This might is a bit like the national treasure but without travelling... you could have clues and you go to different websites to find a letter and you give a clue to where the letter is. Pretty much searching the web for clues. YES you did fool me!! i think finding the title spyishly is a really awesome idea!!
maybe, like a hint thing?
like for each word you have 3 clues or something
<333
you can have random letters in your blog capitalized then when you put it all together it makes the title!
Maybe a picture with clues hidden in it? Sorry, I'm not good at stuff like this.
When are you gonna say who won the t-shirt contest?
How about a mini-game? We have to go through the game and every time we beat a level you reveal part of the title.
By the way, the title did fool me. I got sooo excited and then went, NOOOO! How soon will we know?
You should have a scavenger hut around spy websites and blogs and we try and find a word of the title on each page. Well, ofcourse we would have a hit or something.
i suggest a word find or a word scramble. ohhhhhh ohhhhh ohhhhh, you should do it in morse code!!!! i like that idea, its very spyish. i love your books, they are sooooooo awsome, do you think mabey you could come to illinois sometime? it would make my day to meet you!! gtg, love ya!
THAT TITLE TOTALLY FOOLED ME! maybe you could have one of those mad gab type things like whole + e = holy or olive u=i love you...i totally love your books and i agree with olivia maybe you could write the history of gillie and some of the first gallagher girls or the history of cammie's family and mr. solomon
PLEASE Please Please hurry up... i am bouncing wid excitment to know when ur gonna release d 4 book
how bout you leave it somewhere on your site and give us clues so we have to find it it is brilliant right!
yay yay yay yay yay!!! super excited :D
you could put up clues on the blog and that make us go around the internet like to your myspace and things like to look for the next clue and in the we find out the title.I did something like this on the MySims Agents website and its really fun and definitely spy-ish!
You could do a riddle.
I was ssssoooo excited when I read that you were going to tell the title! But then you didn't. lol nice trick well I think you should show a pic that has hidden letters in it then have us put them in the right order!
A virtual scavenger hunt! (:
make a quiz where if you get enough right answers you get to see the title! i can't wait to find out what it is!
revel it soon!! i am SSSOOOOO excited!!!! :D i think that michella had a good idea. the word find and then the ones left spell it out. YAY!
oh i REALLY like the national treasure and silence dogood thing!!! really like it!! :D
me too, that sounds ah-mazing!!! i love shannon's idea!
actually i prefer the cipher from GG3 as well, not the circle the letters and the remaining letters. i would like the cipher from GG3 SO much.
you could do like, in the first book, the second word on the 43 page is the second word in the title
I think you should just tell us i've been checking your blog almost everyday since I finished don't judge a girl by her cover. (in August)
Tital fooled me.:(
xD
I'm dying to know...You're being very spy-like by just making us suffer by waiting! So just telling us would be nice ;)
Hey Ally! I already commented, but I saw one comment and she asked if you would do a book on Gilly and her story. I think that would be soo cool! You could talk about how the Gallagher first started! I was also thinking if you made a Gallagher Girl book about every/anything spy-ish! But anyway, I can't wait until you finish GG4 and give us the title. HURRY, HURRY!
Your BIGGEST fan,
Wynne from Wynne's Web
how bout a game: my english teacher calls it adult hang mann its rele funn so instead of guessing letters we guess word and you tell us how many of the letters in the word we guess are in the title but not which letters. for example if i guess the word purple and the title was panther then you could say the word purple contained 3 letters from the title its rele funn and if you like the ideat then email me at licoriceluv09@gmail.com i can give you more sepcific rulls and stuff like that!!! thanks for listening!
I really like the Silence Dogood/National Treasure idea and you could do the cipher thing and we could have to find a certain word on a certain page in the other 3 GG books and you could drop subtle hints and clues about what page the actual clue would be on. And we'd have to put all the clues together at the end and unscramble them!
-Kato
make us do a scavenger hunt! those are so fun! like searching the FBI website or your books. just all over the web!!!
can. not. wait.
to find out the title!
ooooooooo! Okay someone may have already said this because I'm far too lazy to scroll down and read every other comment. BUT, you could have a sort of internet scavenger hunt!! It would be a lot of work but soooo fun. You could give us links to a handful of different sites with one word or letter of the title or something in the 'welcome' page! Or something else, but a scavenger hunt would be very Boss.
P.S Also, I never got around to doing it at your actual book signing or even leaving a comment here closer to the time it happened, but, I would like to apologize for how my fellow classmates acted at Kellogg Middle School. They were kinda rude and i felt embarrassed for them.
P.P.S ^Run on sentence much? teehee.
Hey Ally,
I was wondering if you think that you will do another contest for an ARC of Heist Society. I can't wait for February 9th and for GG4. You are my favorite author! I keep reading the Gallagher Girls Series over and over. They're so good! I hope that you can make a way to find the title for GG4 soon!
-Elise
You could jumble the words all into one big, confusing word so that it would be difficult to tell what it is. Or you could try a riddle, crossword puzzle, matching, word search, or something else.
Teasing us with blog titles like that....tsk tsk tsk. ;)
There have been a lot of great ideas suggested, and for all I know, I might be repeating what someone else has said, but perhaps do a huge questionnaire on the series with each answer holding a letter/clue of some sort to the title?
Put blank spaces at the end of the questionnaire for us to fill in the letters of the title? To make it harder, getting the answer to the questionnaire could be just step one of two. Next would be trying to unscramble the letters given so they fit in the spaces left for the title.
This probably makes no sense as I write it out, but it works in my head, I promise. XD
Can't wait to figure out the new title!
Briana
You could use a Book Cipher and use a blog about GG4 or something as the way to solve the cipher. Or you could use a Playfair Cipher, that would be fun, just a little more difficult.
you could come out and tell us i am dying to know and the sooner the better
or you could give a bunch of clues based on events through out the other books and we could try and guess
:'( You fooled me with the title. I screamed with joy, and then... poof! HAHAHAHA!! Anyways... maybe write it in a word find?! i hope no one has already suggested it...
I like the idea of a word find too!!!
you could do one of those thing where each letter has a symbol and you have to figure it out.
Don't make it too hard, but not to easy. This is supposed to be a challenge!! lolz.
I think that you could have a list of difficult questions. And I mean like difficult. Not easy ones like "who was the sixteenth president of the USA?" Thats majorly easy. When you figure out the answer, the next question would be related to the answer before it. Example:
1. What color is a piece of plain copy paper?
2. What is the opposite of that color?
So you see, each question is related to the answer of the question before it. So, if you can't get the first one, the puzzle would be rllly hard.
The questions, of course, would not be that easy.
well that title was majorly misleading, reading some of the other comments most of them look like they come from americans well im australian (: and am basically going out of my mind, i need a gg fix. mmm, i gave a lot of thought into my answer to your question and maybe you could write a paragraph about the gg4 and somehow put the title into it like the first letter of each sentence so it spells it out OR do like random capital letters in the sentences which give us a clue or something to that effect. please please please publish gg4 soon.
I think a website search would be cool like a search of the FBI site or your site. :)
Omigosh!
I thought you were going to actually reveal the title, and I swear, my heart stopped! I'm so excited and I hope as soon as its finished and everything, it will be in the bookstores! I'm totally going to get it the first day it comes out, just like for Heist Society :)
- Person way too excited that it isn't healthy :)
Ally! You should make us work hard to find out what the title is. Like so you know how much we actually want to find out the title. It will be a fun challenge, like going to the Gallagher Acadamy would be. :)
-M
Have us go look in different books and find the words. EX: find the
1st word in the 5th chapter of Twilight. That would be fun. Having to go to the library or a book store to figure out the title of your next book would be awesome.
You should give us the words by having us look in different books. EX: the first word in the fifth chapter of Twilight. Having us go to the library or a bookstore to figure out the title would be fun!
You could do an anogram. You just take all the letters of the title and rearange them to make a different word, and we would just have to take the word apart and put it back together. It's really spy-ish and sneaky. I read it in another book. It was so cool and fun too!
A word scramble would be fun!
I was thinking maybe like a scavenger hunt with letters, you have to go to different websites (your favorites) or maybe your blog archives, and find one letter at a time...
i forgot what its called, but its when you have the 3 numbers that refer to the page paragraph and the word/character and it can be from your other books which will make the title. to add more fun-ness, you could give us a riddle as to which book it comes from.
There is a book by Jennifer Lynn Barnes called perfect cover, it's a spy book to, and it has a part where they write a note that has some letters bolder or that look different than others and when you put those letters together it spelled out a whole different message entirly . So that is sorta spyish an it would be fun, so think about it.
You could reveal the title in morse code! (if you know what that is!)
it would be fun!I once spent hours trying to reveal a secret message in another book i was reading!
Please release the title soon!
I could wait but it would be better if i knew sooner...
~A
"Maybe like National Treasure, when they look at the letters from Silence Dogood to find out that it's the Liberty bell."
Yes!! That's such a great idea! And use books from you and other YA authors! Maybe not each individual letter though, just each word (may not work if any of the words are really rare).
about how long do you think it will take before you make us something to figure out what the title of gg4 is? just an aproximation. please...
Thank you Sarah! It's anonymous. Actually, ever since the chat, everyone, including Ally, knows me as Cammie Goode. Guess what everyone, I DON"T HAVE THE CHICKEN POPS!!!! Turns out that this shirt I bought had a chemical that made ,me break out into what looked like chicken pops. Ok, why the helga am I talking about myself? Not like anyone cares, but yeah. I can't wait to just get the puzzle. I will devote my whole life to solving that puzzle until it is finished and I have revealed to my self Ally's awesomeness.
Please please please please don't make it to hard for me to figure out. I am really bad at those word games. Maybe you could do one of those things where you have a random number or shape for each letter of the alphabet and the title is written using those and you can give us the key and we can figure it out. Another idea is you could write it in another language and tell use the language and we could look it up. (the problem there is you would have to be carful the translate it correctly or it would just confuse us all). I am good with what ever just as long as we can know soon and hopefully you will be able to give use the rest of the book with it. I mean I am going crazy wanting to see what happens next to Cammie (and Zach lol).
Hope you had a good Halloween. he he he. :)
;) :P :)
You know if you just give me the whole book i really don't need the title. Maybe you could just send me a copy to read so you can get a fans reaction. Maybe you could just send ma a copy to be nice. I need that book like now i am going crazy here. Can you at least give me a month it will be released or something. Maybe you could tell us what is going to be on the back of the book. You know those little things that tell us about the book with out giving anything away. Please anything. I am complaining a lot so i am going to go now before i make everyone mad.
Bye bye
;) :P :)
telling us staright out is a good puzzle
First the title got me really hyper, I was about to call up one of my friends (Who is also a fan) and scream!!! But for decoding maybe you could do a word scramble? Also,
HAPPY NOVEL WRITING MONTH!!!! Bye!
life and death in the circle of cavan... lols thats hecka long XD nvm ally
i cant wait tll gg4 comes out!!
How about you do a scavenger hunt type thing through your website? Then in you blog you leave us clues on where to find them and we go through all the hyperlinks in you webpage to fine the words that are part of the title.
You could do a quiz and if u pasted the quiz you could get a code to unlock a video that tells the title and/or a mini expert of the GG4 book. But,oh well, hope you find out soon because I can tell alot of people want to know.LOL,well good luck with your book.
make a scavenger hunt and post clues all over the website!
I think you should do like a scavenger hunt in your books. For ex: CMH pg 132 paragraph 4 word 12 So if all the words in your title were in a book somewhere, you could give the location, but not in order. But I can't wait for it to come out!!!
Ahhhh I'm so excited.
aNoNyMoUs
You HAD ME ALL EXCITED! I WAS LIKE NO WAY! I porbably wouldn't have been fooled if I knew you didn't go right out and tell us before but I haven't been following your blog for a long time! Thanks a lot! But...I think you should give us a code that is like the Book number GG1-GG3 then like the Page number the paragraph and the word or Letter (to make it even more difficult) and then we would have to figure it out there.
Thanks for the Title I was freaking out and then...:( (Littereally I was smileing and then :( So Sad!) Well anyways I still love you and your books! I can't wait for GG4 and the stinkin TITLE! I hope you get done with the book soon and it would be okay maybe...if you said it would be out next fall but that is like a year away and I can't wait that long. Well really I could since I have been waiting for GG4 the second I finished GG3 there are too many unaswered questions that me and my friends have to have answered!!! But until then I will have to get my mind off of it somehow
You could make it so obvious that some people would think too hard and never figure it out because it was so easy. That would stump people...
i've been reading the first few comments and i was like OMG i was thinking the same thing! the whole national treasure cryptic letter code number thingy haha or like not do it too obiviouse like litterally saying 'the third letter in the title in the first letter in the etc.' like if not monuments maybe u send us to pages in ur past 3 books or actually post a page of your past books and give us like make the cyphers like national treasure wow im so pumped for gg4 ever thow i didnt read the 3rd i better change that soon thow!=]
you could do a word unscrambeler like: lepsea lelt su het tltie.
but i said "please tell us the title" that would be fun!!
-S
scavenger hunt online !!!!!
How 'bout a riddle??? Something not too hard but challenging. Or unscrabling words.
♥ maybe you could leave letters around the site and have us switch around the letters to find out the title! ♥
I actually thought u were going to put the title up! any way u cood put different bolded letters around this site on different main pages and then we could look for them and unscramble them to find the title. cant wait!!!
O my goodness! that miniblog totally fooled me! It excited me beyond beleif. And then i read it! o man ur good you really had me going for a minuete! I personaly like the web hunt idea or a riddle! Cant wait untill the reveal. i am so ready for another adventure with Cam and the gg gang!
i dont care!!i just wanna know the title lol!!... maybe you could just tell us so we dont have to do any work?...didnt think so.hmm... you could do a thingy where the words are hidden in a virtual room and you have to find them
I really think you should do an Ottendorf Cipher from the previous 3 GGs. Like the Silence Dogood letters on National Treasure. I know that like ten other people have already mentioned this, but it's a really good idea!!!!! Please do this one! It would be SOOOOOOO AWESOME!
But, really I don't care how you do it, as long as you do it, and do it SOON! I can't wait!
Ottendorf Cipher
You should deffinately do an Ottendorf Cipher!
OMG! you should deffinately do an Ottendorf Cipher like Bella said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A quiz, Ally, a quiz! Like the one already on your blog, but you have to get so many of the questions right and then POOF! There it would be...
I feel like Liz.
do the Silence Dogood thing from National Treasure!!!!!!!!!!!
The Cipher thing... you know.
lol
Okay, you should deffinately, without a doubt, do an Ottendorf Cipher from the previous GG books.
That being said, I am a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the Galagher Girls books! I can't imagine how I'm going to wait until next summer to get the next one! It's all I can take! =)
Please release the title soon!
i agreee with the 1st girl...u should use a cyptograph
Suggestion of British last names: Chambers, Duck, Dickman, Wilkes, Woolridge, Peeble....Have fun finding one, try going onto a website that you can search names and origins on, even history behind how the name developped :) Good Luck :)
-Olivia
Hey ally, another suggestion, someone may have suggested it already but why not put all the letters of the title in one long line, randomly assorted, and then we have to unscramble them ourselves, but every few days you could give us riddles or clues to help us figure it out :)
-Olivia
I second the Cryptogram sugested by Anonymous, the first anonymous that is. Comment number one congratulations to them!
The cryptogram seems cool and very true to the spy festivities!
SO I VOTE CRYPTOGRAM!
And I just finished Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover. Loved it, can't wait till GG4. Gosh I have wanted to read that book since June 9th, but ya know, school, and library, i didn;t get to...
I finished in like two days, I devoured that book! d|^o^|b
~M
you know you can always just tell us..? i wouldn't mind xD Lol. Sorry but i just CAN'T WAIt till this book comes out :D
darn it. :( oh well. it woulda been cool if u had revealed the title the day before my birthday though...
It would b kool to hav a quiz! Omg it would b awsome if Josh tried to win her bac but she likes Zach sooooo much she stays wit zac even though as far as I know they not together but sorta r. I hope tht made since lol! Pleeeeaaassseee we need deleted scences or exserpts!!!!! I lov u ally!!!! Please post post post(not to b pushy or anything)
Ps..u don't have to post this I just wanted u to read it =]
you should do a riddel!!!!!!
you had me fooled but its okay :)
you could maybe have this amazing race thing? just have it online and go to different websites, find the clues and fit them all into one piece.
How about a sort of cyber scavenger hunt? Like we could pick up clues from your other blog post or your myspace page or something.
Just a thought. :)
Can't wait for the book! <3
i agree with the yellowbelt person thats smart...i have a question right quick what is the color of cammie's eyes??...u probably said it in your books but umm...just wondering...i keep picturing diff. faces an now my brain hurts...haha
I have an idea. What if you made a scavenger hunt using your previous two books. The first letter of each word that answers the question could spell out the title.
Hope this helps.
ps. I cannot wait for GG4. I am SOOOO excited.
What if you did have the quiz about the books like other fans have been saying, but, well, you know how quizes usually have things like this:
A
B
C
And after that it show possible answers? Well how about if the answer your trying to figure out is the word spy. Then this is how you'd show it with my idea:
question
S right
K wronge
A wronge
question
M wronge
E wronge
P right
question
T wronge
Y right
R wronge
And the right answers letter is a letter in the title! It's pretty confusing, and if you don't get it, I understand. But if you do get it, please consider it!
PS I love the translation idea! :)
I do like blueeyedgirl's idea about the cyber scavenger hunt, but some of us might not be able to get on myspace. Sorry! But I still wouldn't mind if it were just on her blog!
Ally!
I totally think you should make us scavenge through information on some of the other GG books. Like you could tell us to find the second word in the definition of a brush pass or something. It'll be so much fun and I hope you finish the fourth book soon 'cause I'm dying to read it. You're my favourite writer EVER!! Don't ever feel discouraged that we won't like it (although I agree with Jen that Zac should be shirtless), because we will. You rock.:)
-M
Are you going to make a book 5, or just the four? How many do you plan to write? WHEN are you going to realease the title and let millions of fans drool over it? WHEN! I WANNA READ! (No pressure) (LOL)
A scavenger hunt sort of thing on line and then the items we find or the URLs add up to a like code or word search or word scramble to figure out the title
i think u should give us page, paragragh, and word of GG3 and have that speel out the title!
How about an internet scavenger hunt? It would be fun and make us do a little bit of research. You could find words or clues. I dont know that would be up to you. But I think that would be really cool.
:) That title fooled me! Ah, its okay I can wait. That would be the spyish thing to do right? Love youre books. Cant wait for Heist Society and GG4.
:D
Why dont you just tell us and save all the fuss....
I do and don't agree with the book-word-find-it thing where you go to a certain book and find a certain words, mostly because pages 133-134 of my copy of Love You Kill You are missing
You could make a 100 piece puzzle, or you could make a GG question-air in which for each question they answer correctly they would get a letter or part of the title that was in the answer to the question!
I would love if you just told us :) jk Cross word would be fun. they would have to be really hard questions that only really devoted GG fans would know
how about quotes or phrase??
like when you wish upon a spy or sumthing.. hehehe..
i can't wait for the 4th book
Miss Cellaneous, about the pages missing somewhere on the site you can get read the missing pages im sure it would work if we did the book thing. Or you could just check it out
I loved the crossword puzzle!
Yes!!!!! Definitely a cryptogram! I absolutely LOVE those! Please consider!!!
omg!! forgive my girlish answer, but you have to tell us. I reraed the last book two times in the last month. As soon as you put up the reddle telling the name, i will get it. Please make that soon. Maybe a word find?!
Russain Spice
an ottendorf cipher
use sign-language...
Okay, seriously! you posted that on Friday, it is now Tuesday!
I'm dying here!!!!!!!
PLEASE HURRY!!!! I don't know how much longer i can wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm a 27 years old with two kids and I love your book and tell my little friend about your books. Keep it up
oh no! no title today? oh well, i think finding it is way better! i like the cryptogram idea too! dont be afraid to make it hard. Us gallager girls can do anything! (when it comes to title revalations! :-) )
Ooh! Translations! Like "I'd tell" In Farsi, "You" in French, "I love" In Russian, "You" in Spanish... That could be so much fun!!
hmm... how about...
An internet word hunt...
like you put one word on the site of another author, and we like have to search for the words.
would be cool
I like the National Treasure Idea. You'd give us an Internet Treasure Hunt! You could also have letters Cammie sent to A) Her Friends B) Josh or Zach or C) The Big Guys upstairs ;). Like the Silent Doggod letters!!! Either way, I'd have fun doing it.
What about a Scavenger Hunt thing? Where you would tell us were we could find a particular word or a question website or even a page or a single letter from one of the previous 3 books?
I also like the cryptogram idea. Those are always fun...
Use song titles. I know that's not the best way, but it makes people need to search. Like word 5 of the title is the 3rd word of the tital for the song with the lyrics "blah blah blah". You have to search for the lyrics and the right song for the title to come out right.
That's usuing your spy sence by having to search for things. Hope my idea helps in your search
How about a scavenger hunt? Either on the site, on the web, or in one of the books. . . ?
Okay... Here's one:
The clue could look like this:
Don't Judge A Girl By Her Cover - 72 - 5 - 2
Give us the name of a book.
Give us the page number.
Give us the line number.
Give us the word number.
That word would be the first word of the title. Or not. Or maybe. I don't know.
a hunt/riddle!! leave clues around the web site that ends in a riddle! :)
do one of those word unscrambler's (an anagram) with like different characters, place, etc, in the books and like a certain letter (the blank would be circled) from each unscrambled word and then once you finish then all the letters make the title
You could have a bunch of your author friends post clues on their blogs. And you could put links to their blogs (or if you wanted to be more so sneaky, you could just tell us their names, and we'd have to find the blogs ourselves). Then once we were reading the blog there would be like a riddle or a clue. It would be a super complex way of doing this...but awesome!
Like the National Treasure-ish idea and am REALLY WANTING TO KNOW THE TITLE!!!!CAN'T WAIT,ALLY!!!!!
omg! I read the first two GG books in 4th grade(im in 7th now) and 3 years later i decided to move so when i did i had to put all my stuff in storage and then i dug all my stuff out when i found out i WASN'T moving....and i found these books and decided to read them! then at a school book fair i saw the GG3 book and was like omg theres another one!!!! and i just finished it 3 days ago! and i freaked out when i thought there werent going to be anymore books...but, there IS! so...YAY!!!! Btw, can you PLZ PLZ PLZ tell us when its going to be done so i can read it!!! anyways...for about 2 weeks now(when i read the GG books) you are my ALL time FAVORITE writer!!!
You could make it like a scavenger hunt kind of thing where we go to different websites to find the clues and then put it all together!!!! :D
Maybe you could hide the name of the book into one of youer blog headings like I don't know a jummble heading that makes no sense and that the readers have to figure out.
Hurry up!!! We are dying here! It's bad enough we have to wait 'til summer, but at least give us the title! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!
I went OOOOH, TITLE!!! And then it wasn't. :( Hehehehe have a good day!
we could turn in projects on any of the gg books. If you get a certain # you will make up a series of clues. When a certain # of people have cracked them, you will tell us the title.
you should ask questions about the book, and every question has a number. then theres an answer section and each answer has a letter. u put the numbers in order(you) then solve and put the letters where they go!
and may i say i almost screamed when it said title revel. Aww... dissapointment...
weell. i thinkk it would be cool if you did an anagram or something. or you wrotee a letterr and words from the title were in it and you hadd to pick them out and put them in orrderr. when i firstt saw the tiltle thing, my friend caughtt a glimpse, tackled me, and tried to read it. i won.
Maybe u should do a scavenge hunt! like in "National Treasures" when the clothes sent all over the world. Only we are'nt going to go all over the world. Get it?
Cool! Sounds like fun!!
